Lloyd Earl Allen and Ethel Katherine Lee were joined in holy wedlock at Okeene, Oklahoma, on August 30, 1914.

The groom, born on March 27, 1889, was the son of Sandy and Amelia Allen of Lacey, Oklahoma. The bride, born on February 26, 1888, was the eldest child of Joseph and Annie Lee of Okeene, Oklahoma. The bride and groom were both school teachers and the children of pioneers in Oklahoma Territory.

Immediately following their nuptuals, Lloyd took his bride to live on the land he homesteaded near Roswell, New Mexico, in 1909. Sadly, the couple only had four years together before Lloyd passed away in 1918. They had one child at the time...a daughter named Jessie; however, their son, Lloyd II, was born two months later...after Ethel returned to Oklahoma to live.

Ethel taught school for many years while her parents helped to raise her children. She married again in 1927 (John Quincy Miles), but her husband died in a farm accident in 1930.

Ethel never married again. Severe asthma eventually drove her from living on her farm near Okeene. She subsequently lived in Hennessey, Oklahoma; Wichita, Kansas; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and southern California.

Ethel Lee-Allen-Miles survived her parents, siblings, son, and peers. She passed away at the age of 100 on March 25, 1988. She is interred at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Covina Hills, California. Her first husband is buried in South Park Cemetery in Roswell, New Mexico, and her second husband is interred with the Lee family in Parvin Cemetery east of Okeene, Oklahoma.
