Unknown Cemetery

Pushmataha County, Oklahoma

From the Oklahoma Genealogical Society Quarterly, Vol. 25, No. 2, June 1980 Transcribed to Electronic form by Jo White

While on a fishing trip in Southeastern Oklahoma, Mr. Darrell Harms of Chickasha, OK, accidentally found this unnamed (as far as he knows) cemetery located about four miles east of Tuskahoma between Coldspur and Kiamichi.  It is the last cemetery on Highway 271, towards Talihina.  Coldspur is not listed on the map or in George Shirk’s Oklahoma Place Names.  However, in the publication of the Oklahoma Department of Highways, Town and Place Locations, in the approximate locale, Section 29 T2N R20E, was a place called “Cole.”  It was possibly only a railroad siding.  Hopefully, in the next issue we can furnish more information and the remainder of the tombstone inscriptions.  Our appreciation to Ruby Reaves, OGS member, for sending the three listed below.
