This is a listing of those buried in Silver City
Cemetery, two miles north of Tuttle, Oklahoma (Grady County), on the banks of
the South Canadian River. The list was prepared by Clyde Mitchell Duckwall,
Jr., assisted by Mrs. Clyde Mitchell Duckwall, Sr., Mrs. Gladys Mell Duckwall,
and Mr. J.B. Tuttle. It is included in Oklahoma Geographical Society Quarterly,
Vol. 9, Number 2, June, 1964.
William Ward, a cowboy, was shot and killed in
1876 in a gunfight and was the first one to be buried in the Silver City
Cemetery.
