Joel Moseley’s Grave, 1846-1890

Oklahoma Genealogical Society Quarterly Vol. 11, No. 2, (For) June 1966

Transcribed to Electronic form by Jo White

This grave lies nearly hidden just north of Olustee in Jackson County. . .the “resting place of a cowboy who helped drive a Texas herd across this country.

“According to a headstone  placed years after his death by relatives, he died on these plains in 1890.  His horse, startled by a rattlesnake, threw him and he died of a broken neck.  His companions buried him here.”[i]
