This grave lies nearly hidden just north of Olustee in Jackson County. . .the “resting place of a cowboy who helped drive a Texas herd across this country.
“According to a headstone placed years after his death by relatives, he died on these plains in 1890. His horse, startled by a rattlesnake, threw him and he died of a broken neck. His companions buried him here.”[i]
