excerpt from A History of the Choctaw, Chickasaw and Natchex Indians,
by Horatio Bardwell Cushman:
John Cravat, a Frenchman, married a Choctaw They had two daughters, Nancy and
Rebecca, who were both married to Louis LeFLORE. After the death of his Choctaw
wife, Mr. Cravat married a Chickasaw. They had four sons; Thomas, Jefferson,
William and Charles; and a daughter, Elsie (Eloy), who married Daniel Harris, a
white man. They became the parents of Colonel J.D. HARRIS, who married
Catherine NAIL,
the fourth daughter of Joel H. NAIL.
