Baby girl is welcome arrival at home of Mr. and Mrs. Dr. Rumsey born February
11.
Mr. Enoch Cole died February 10, 1900. About 50 years of age; buried cemetery
northeast of Dover.
Mrs. Cora Liggett, born Illinois 1877, died at her home in Dover February 12
1900 of catarrhal consumption. Remains taken to Hennessey Cemetery for
internment.
Grace Bell Rardin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. Rardin of El Reno, united in
marriage to Dr. A.L. Share of Kingfisher. Will be at home to their friends in
Kingfisher after March 10.
Married at home of bride's parents Saturday February 17 1900, Miss Ada Brown
and Mr. Frank L. Ketch.

Mrs. Abbie Malone, wife of W.H. Malone, died February 18. Leaves husband and
little daughter of 13 months.

Mrs. Ella May Wilson died March 2 1900 aged 25 years 6 months 22 days. Born in
Kansas, moved with family (Brown) to Oklahoma July 1892. United in marriage
with Geo. W. Wilson July 31 1898.

Commissioner Allbaugh of 3rd District was thrown from his horse while rounding
up some cattle Monday and died from his injuries.

C.C. Evans and Miss Cora Jones married at Enid last Saturday.
Born Friday March 30 to Mr. and Mrs. Christman, a son.

At home of bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. B.F. Smith, on April 19, Mr. Phillips
Renner of Kansas City and Miss Nettie Smith of Omega, Oklahoma were united in
marriage.
Mrs. R.A. Lyle, seriously ill for several weeks, died Sunday. She was Mabel
Minnie Marley, born Pennsylvania July 21 1870; came to Oklahoma with her
parents in 1892. United in marriage to R.A. Lyle August 30, 1893. Besides
husband and sweet little girl, Edith, leaves father and mother, Mr. and Mrs.
George W. Marley, and brothers and sisters to mourn her loss. Internment
Kingfisher Cemetery.

Rumor says John Riggs has been offered several thousands dollars for his patent
on fire proof fence post.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. W.U. Cochrane Thursday last, a boy.
Sam McCormick died at his home near here Tuesday.
C.J. Lahue, who has been sick for some time, died Monday. Born Harrison Co.
Indiana March 5 1846. Served in Civil War; was prisoner in Confederate prisons.
Married March 1890 to Mrs. Rhoda B. Meade in Great Bend, Kansas; came to Oklahoma
1893.
Mr. M.J. Bay and Miss Julia Kirkpatrick of Downs were married by Rev. J.W.
Sherwood on Monday last.
Last Wednesday afternoon Miss Gussie Ruth, one of the most estimable young
ladies of Kingfisher, was married to W.J. Krehbiel, editor and proprietor of
McPherson, Kansas Daily Republican. Will be at home to friends in
McPherson after May 10.

Died: Mrs. Isabella Seay Collins, born Osage Co., Missouri February 7 1847;
married to J.I. Collins September 16 1880, Union, Missouri. Soon after they
moved to Colorado where they lived for 15 years. Her husband died there
September 1894. Her health forced a move to milder climate. She was a sister of
Ex-Governor A.J. Seay.

Martin McDowell and Miss Rosa Hartley of Wandel were married in Kingfisher May
30. Judge McGee performed the ceremony.
Married June 3, Frank Childers and Miss Minnie Hartson at home of bride's
parents. Now at home in Wichita.

Mr. Pike Liggett and Miss Birdie Bledsoe, both of this place, united in holy
bonds of matrimony on June 2, by Rev. Walborne.

Funeral services of Nannie C. Brown, sister of M.L. Brown, held at residence of
Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Crabtree Saturday, Rev. F.L. Benedict officiating. She was
born Caldwell Co. Kentucky May 4 1870; died July 27.

Sunday July 29, daughter born to Mr. and Mrs. Tom Morgan.
On July 31, friends of Mr. and Mrs. James S. Jones gathered at their home
northwest of Dover in honor of thier 52nd wedding anniversary.
Mrs. Martina Eaton, wife of Mr. Thomas Eaton Sr., of Wandel, Okla. Terr.,
departed this life August 5 1900, aged 76 years 3 months 17 days. She was
formerly Miss Chesser, born Morgan Co., Kentucky April 17 1824. Moved with
parents to Illinois where she married Thomas Eaton. 12 children born; 8 or 9
still living.

marriage by H.H. Gane at residence of bride's parents August 19 1900.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Doey lost their little son Paul Tuesday, after illness of 5
weeks.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Admire, a son.
Died 6-month-old child of Mr. and Mrs. Claud Mauk of Waukomis, last week.
Funeral and burial at Dover.

September 10, at home of Mr. and Mrs. P.S. Nagle.
Mr. Warren Cashow and Miss Ida Callahan were married at home of bride's parents
September 2.

Died: Mrs. Miller, mother of Mrs. N.W. Slater, Thursday September 20. Funeral
at M.E. Church, Rev. J.W. Sherwood officiating. Laid to rest in Kingfisher
Cemetery.

George W. Fletcher and Mrs. Mary Clark united in marriage at Kingfisher September

Numerous prairie schooners pass through here daily, enroute to the
"promised land" "The Canaan"' the Kiowa, Comanche and
Apache country.

Mrs. Brock died October 26 at her home south of town; sick since last March.
Leaves husband and one child.
On October 28 at home of bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Paul, was the
ceremony making Mosie A. Mitchell and Miss Della Paul husband and wife. Rev.
Hartman performed the ceremony.
Aron Wilkinson accidently shot on Gordan farm. Born in Illinois and was twenty
years and 3 months old.

A baby girl came to gladden the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Roland Saturday
morning.
Little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Neff departed this life Sunday. Laid to
rest in Kingfisher Cemetery.
Four-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. B.F. Emdee of Omega died Sunday evening with
croup; only sick a few hours.
Infant child of Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Rogers died Tuesday; internment at Alpha
Cemetery.
Mrs. Charles Anderson of Grant Township died Friday night. Buried Bird Creek
Cemetery.
C.E. Clay who lived 3 miles southeast of Kingfisher, died last Sautrday; sick
for some time. Leaves wife and 2 sons to mourn his loss.
Wednesday morning at home of bride, Rev. F.L. Benedict pronounced the words
that made Miss Esther Logan the wife of Mr. John Stephens of Texas.

Annie Lusettie Anderson, born February 11 1862 Fountain Co. Indiana, died at
her home November 9 1900, age 38 years 8 months 28 days. Married to Charles B.
Anderson September 9 1881 in Fountain Co. Indiana. Spent 7 years in Minnesota,
1 year in Colorado and was present at the opening of Oklahoma where she has
since lived. 5 children born; 2 sons and 1 daughter still living.
Jury in Walcher murder case came out a hung jury, 9 for acquittal and 3
against.
George H. Johnson and J.R. Paradis returned yesterday from trip through the new
country. They are loud in their praise of this beautiful land.
A very pleasant time was enjoyed last Friday evening at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. E.W. Hunt by a few of their friends, it being the occasion of Mrs. Hunt's
birthday. Chief amusement of the evening was conundrums written on a piece of
paper and each guest presented with one. They were supposed to be answered with
the names of some of the most popular authors. Mrs. P.S. Carpenter was awarded
a prize, a dainty cup and saucer, for the largest number of correct answers.

The Curran-Milton Dramatic Company is playing to full houses this week at the
Grand Opera House. Saturday night each ticket holder will receive a number; one
of these numbers will draw a pig. After the performance the pig will be turned
loose on the stage, and the person holding the lucky number will be required,
in order to be in full possession, to catch his porkership in full view of the
audience.

New fast passenger service recently inaugurated on the Rock Island now has 3
north-bound and 3 south-bound trains daily.
Wednesday afternoon Miss Mayme Wilde and Mr. Emory Brownlee were married.

Died Friday November 31, 2-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Bilderback, of
what the doctors called scarlet fever.
Died Friday November 31, Charles Berry aged about 50 years, of lung fever.
Burial in Excelsior Cemetery, 8 miles west of Dover.

Married December 25 by Rev. Wagner, Mr. Wirt K. Winton of Wichita to Miss
Bertha N. Binkley of Kingfisher.
On the same day by Rev. Wagner, at home of bride's parents, Mr. August
Schenbeaur and Miss Nina Hunt of Kingisher.
Mrs. Elizabeth Sherwood, mother of recent pastor of M.E. Church here Rev. J.W.
Sherwood, died at her home in this city lasy Saturday after a wearing illness
of several weeks. She was past 74 years of age; was married to Joseph Sherwood
more than 56 years ago.

Our popular deputy County Clerk, Miss Elma Burns, was married at home of her
parents last evening to Mr. Charles B. McLaughlin of this city.
After a long illness, Ella May Holden died January 4.

George Birch died January 20 1901 in his 80th year at residence of O.H.P.
McDowell, his son-in-law. Born in Ohio; moved to McLean Co. Illinois in 1854;
lived 10 years in Kansas and last 3 months in Oklahoma. Buried Kingfisher
Cemetery.
Infant son of Mr. and Mrs. George Laing died Friday; two weeks old.
Little child of Mr. and Mrs. Kerr died Sunday night; buried Kingfisher
Cemetery.

The Kingfisher land office has filed over 400 homestead entries this month; in
other words, 400 new citizens have been added to western Oklahoma through the
Kingfisher land office this month.

Hosea R. Lillibridge was born near Wattsburg, Erie Co. Pennsylvania January 27
1861. Lived on father's farm until 1870 when he went to Delaware Co., Iowa;
united in marriage to Miss Emma Wykoff of South Bend, Indiana, March 8 1876. In
1883 he moved his family to Wichita, Kansas until opening of Oklahoma. They
settled on farm 1 1/2 miles west of Dover where he lived until his death
January 26 1901. From 1893 to 1897 he filled capacity of Post Master at Dover,
Father of 4 children, 2 of whom, with their mother, live to mourn his death.
Internment Dover Cemetery.

Lewis Bradley, youngest son of Col. and Mrs. John T. Bradley, was born October
4 1887. For some weeks past a victim of fever called by physicians hectic
fever, died March 3, body placed in cemetery west of Kingfisher.

Charter granted for proposed railway line from Enid in Garfield County to

Bert Bryant of the 33rd Regiment, Co. "F", arrived home from the
Philippines last night.
March 21 1901
Miss Maud Smith received ntoice that she will receive the sum of one hundred
dollars April 15, as reward for correctly solving a puzzle for a New York
company. With the notice came letter of congratulations.

City Council contracted with Chicago Bridge and Iron Company for all steel
tower and water tank; to be 120 feet high and hold 100,000 gallons of water.
Frankie Ambrose, sick for about a week, died Friday. She was a bright sweet
child of 6 who lived with her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Ambrose; her
parents both being dead.

Mr. and Mrs. Benedict, father and mother of F.L. Benedict celebrated their
golden wedding at Presbyterian Church Tuesday evening.
Last Sunday afternoon, Gladys Benton Hockaday laid to rest; 9 years 7 months
old.

Quite a delegation of Kingfisher people went over to the inauguration at Guthrie
Monday.
Wife of Henry Sen died of heart disease at their home in Harrison Township
yesterday; leaves husband and 6 children to mourn her loss.
Mr. E.S. McCabe, Superintendant of Hennessey Schools, and Miss Maude Binding,
one of Hennessey's fairest daughters, were united in marriage at home of bride
in that city last evening.

The Dover brick kiln have burned thier first kiln of brick and the brick is now
ready to use.

Commencement exercises of Kingfisher High School held last Friday evening in
the Grand Opera House. Misses Stella Doty and Marguerite Gallagher were
graduates; both delivered orations that made us proud of them and of our public
school system and teachers. Subject of oration delivered by Miss Doty was
"The Universal Language". Miss Gallagher's subject was "Choosing
a Vocation".
Annual commencement exercises of Kingfisher College will be held June 2 - 6.

Funeral services for Ed Hawkins, who died Sunday after 6 week illness, were
held Monday afternoon in Baptist Church.
Miss Litta Wilson and Milton Gilbert were married June 19 at home of the bride,
Rev. J.E. Wagner performing the ceremony.

A baby boy came to home of Dr. and Mrs. Share last week.
William A. Richardson, assistant commissioner of the general land office, left
Tuesday for Washington, having completed the preliminaries incident to
establishing county seats and county boundaries in the reservations to be
thrown open.
Miss Nell Turk of this city and W.H. McCutcheson, formerly of Kingfisher, were
married Sunday at home of bride's sister, Mrs. J.S. Patrick. They left on the
morning train for their new home in Luther, Okla., where Mr. McCutcheson is
engaged in the drug business.

Richard Pappe and wife, Charles Rogers and wife, James Gibson and wife, each
has added a new son and heir to their family since our last issue.
Rural free delivery routes have been established in nearly all of the states
and territories. Kansas already has 219 and has applied for 640 more. States
having more than Kansas are Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, New york, Ohio,
Pennsylvania, Wisconsin. Greatest number so far to Illinois, which has 352
routes. Oklahoma has one. Mississippi and Montana have none.

Infant child of Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Hopkins of this city, died Friday after short
illness.
Edith Bradley, daughter of Col. Bradley, gave up long battle for life on June
29.
Quite a delegation of Kingfisher County people are in El Reno waiting their
turn to register (for land lottery).
