| Emerson Junior High began educating junior high students in Enid, Oklahoma in 1923. Mr. Rex Cleveland became the first principal of Emerson Junior High. Emerson Junior High received building additions in 1936 and 1955. A shop annex was added in 1964 and a new gym in 1975. Emerson has had nine different principals since 1923. The following principals have served Emerson Junior High School: Rex D. Cleveland, 6 years; B. Roy Daniel, 23 years; D. Bruce Selby, 1 year; O. T. Autry, 6 years; Sanford H. Newsom, 17 years; Gary Kirtley, 5 years; Ron Garrison, 10 years; and current principal, Alan E. Corr, for 11 years. |
