Wanda Boruff

The funeral services for Wanda Marie Boruff, 89 year-old Enid resident will be Monday, May 9, 2011 at 2:00PM in the Henninger-Hinson Chapel. Dr. Grayson Lucky will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Wanda was born on October 7, 1921, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and passed on to the Heavenly Father on May 4, 2011. As a young child, Wanda was adopted by the amazingly loving Roy and Lulu Morgan of Jefferson, Oklahoma. She grew up and attended high school in Jefferson and then went on to nursing school in Enid, Okla. She married her high school sweetheart, Joe Boruff on November 2, 1940. After Joe's military service with the U.S. Navy during World War II, they moved to Enid and there raised their two children. Wanda worked as a nurse in St. Mary's Hospital and was the office nurse for Dr. Bruce Hinson for many years until retirement. She was a proud member of First United Methodist Church in Enid and served as a volunteer for Bass Hospital for 29 years. She loved volunteering and working on various community activities with her many longtime and beloved friends. She was preceeded in death by her parents, Roy and Lulu; husband Joe; son Mike Boruff and sister Leota Reames. Wanda's survivors include her daughter and son in law, Sharon and Bob Pollock of Frisco, TX; her daughter in law, Sandy Boruff of Plano, TX; her sister, Leora O'Mealy of Okla. City; her four grandchildren, Rod Pollock of Washington DC; Scott Pollock of Plano, TX; Danny Boruff of Plano, TX; and Stacy Guzman of Rowlett, TX. She had 7 great grandchildren, Cassi, Alexa, Blake, Brent, Billy, Breanna, and Ethan. She will remain in the hearts of all who knew her and will be remembered for her undying, unselfish love and committment to her family, friends, and community.
