 Funeral services for Vernita Mae Secor, 92 year-old Enid resident, will be2:00PM Monday, January 23, 2012 in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Susan Southall will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Vernita was born on July 14, 1919 in Isabella, Oklahoma to Ruben and Leah (Lauback) Lorenz and died January 20, 2012 at Greenbrier Nursing Home. She graduated from Okeene High School. On May 14, 1938, she married Henry “Hank” Secor in Enid. The couple made their home on a farm south of Drummond. Vernita worked as a hairdresser in Drummond for over 40 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was also a member of PHI Sigma Alpha Enid ETA Chapter. She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Landwehr and husband, Truman of Enid; two grandchildren; Tracie Chowning and Amy Thomas as well as seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hank in 1987; grandson, Bart Helterbrand; one sister and two brothers.
