HAMILTON — Verna Lou Lewis, 91, of Hamilton, passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the Marcus Daly Memorial Hospice Center in Hamilton.
Verna was born Jan. 26, 1924 in Hillsdale, Oklahoma the daughter of the late Paul H. and Verna Lucille Crabtree. She married Gerald J. Lewis Sr., Jan. 5, 1945 in Enid, Oklahoma. She enjoyed sewing and made beautiful dresses for her daughters and often made her own clothing as well.
Verna was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald J. Lewis Sr.; son, Mark E. Lewis Sr.; daughter, Jerianne Lewis; grandson, Mark E. Lewis Jr.; brothers, Lyle and Paul Crabtree; sisters, Loris Crabtree Tull and Marilyn Crabtree Kirtley.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Lewis McBride of Double Oak, Texas; sons, Frank D. Lewis of Winter Park, Florida, Bryan J. Lewis of Mesa, Arizona, Gerald J. Lewis of Weatherford, Texas; sister, Pam Crabtree Gosnell of Edmond, Oklahoma; brothers, James Harvey of Enid, Oklahoma, Harvey Crabtree of Nash, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Kimberly Lewis Towe of Missoula, Benjamin R. McBride of Seattle, Washington, Lori McBride Edgemon of Corinth, Texas, Charlene Lewis of Denton, Texas, Melanie, Aiden and Eleanor Lewis all of Weatherford, Texas; great-grandchildren, Shelby, Evan, Aidan and Carson Towe all of Missoula, Alexis Edgemon of Corinth Texas.
