 There will be a memorial service Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 10:00AM in John M. Ireland Funeral Home Chapel in Moore, Oklahoma. Ruby J. Rodgers, 77 year-old Oklahoma City resident. Ruby was born Christmas day 1933 in Davidson, Oklahoma to Vernon and Willie ( Edwards ) Rodgers and died Saturday in Oklahoma City, on June 4, 2011. She attended Davidson schools and graduated from Davidson High School in 1951. She then attended business college. in Dallas. She enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in San Diego, California. She returned to Oklahoma City where she began her career as a Legal Secretary for various law firms in Oklahoma City. She enjoyed gardening. Local arrangements are by Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.She is survived by her daughter Brenda Rodgers of Waukomis, OK., two sons; Gene and Anthony Meazell of Oklahoma City,, three grandchildren, Denise Simpson, Stephanie Nichols, both of Ames, OK. and Steven Twellman of Enid. Four great-grandchildren and one brother Bobby Rodgers of Oklahoma City. Also numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents, brother Howard, and a niece Karen.
