Robert L. McIntosh, 69, requests no services and will be cremated under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date in Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Winfield, Kansas.
Robert was born April 21, 1942 in Winfield, Kansas to Henry Lewis "Bud" and Mabel Lourene (Keeler) McIntosh, and passed away Saturday, June 11, 2011 in his home in Enid. He was raised in Winfield and graduated from Winfield High School with the class of 1960. He served in the Army National Guard before entering the United States Air Force, serving from 1962 to 1966. He retired in 2007 as a heavy equipment operator out of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He loved the mountains of Colorado, traveling and the great out-of-doors.
On August 7, 1965, he married Verniva "René" Pike at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Brunswick, Maine. Upon discharge from the USAF, they moved to his home state of Kansas and later to Oklahoma. They have resided in Enid since January of 1981.
Survivors include his wife René, of the home, son David Scott and wife Deina of Oklahoma City, along with grandsons, Robert Lachlan and Michael Collin, sister Judy Brooks and husband Ted, of Montrose, Colorado, and nieces Essie Becker and Marion Omernik also of Montrose.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and beloved aunt Ruth Clarke.
