 Margaret Marie Dowers was born to Mr. and Mrs. L. O. Wheeler on January 27, 1943 in Wellington, KS. She died April 7, 2011 in Enid. She attended school in Enid, graduating in 1961. She married Bob Dowers after attending Beetch Beauty College and Northeastern Oklahoma Junior College. Margaret dedicated 27 years to the students of Emerson Junior High School as manager of the lunch program.She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Dowers and is survived by two children, Rob Dowers, Flagstaff, AZ; Angela Dowers Hines, Enid; daughter-in-law, Melinda Dowers and grandson, Connor, Flagstaff, AZ. Also, five sisters, Christine Darnell, Wichita, KS; Patricia Goldsberry, Yantis, TX; LaDonna Miller, Winfield, KS; Eileene Carey, Arlington, TX; and Janice Decovic, Austin, TX as well as several nieces, nephews and beloved friends who will miss her infectious sense of humor. Whilst having her feet rubbed the day before she died, Margaret asked that her obituary read that she was "well-rubbed"; she is indeed well-loved. She died peacefully surrounded by loved ones and will be missed immeasurably. Services will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2011 in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00pm with Reverend Kevin Ratterman officiating. Memorial contributions can be made through the funeral home to the Enid SPCA. |
