| LENNEL P. JONES (HASTINGS) died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, of a broken heart at the age of 64. Born in Enid to an unknown mother and adopted by Dr. Nelson and Lenore (Rainy) Hastings six days later. Surviving are children, Michael Jones of Enid and Robert Jones of Braidwood, Ill.; and two grandchildren, Phillip and Brandon. Preceded in death by husband, Lum Jones; parents, Dr. Nelson and Lenore (Rainy); and sister, Janet Nay. Cremation rites have been accorded. WILMINGTON-Lennel P. Jones, nee Hastings, 64, of Wilmington passed away Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011 of a broken heart.She was born in Enid, OK, to an unknown mother and was adopted by Dr. Nelson and Lenore (nee Rainy) Hastings six days later. She attended schools in the Enid area and graduated from Enid High School. She was a devoted wife to Lum and a wonderful mother to her sons, Michael (Pam) and Robert; loving grandmother to her grandchildren, Phillip and Brandon. Her greatest past time was reading, fishing and bragging about her sons and grandsons. She was an avid Elvis fan and loved her dog Bella more than most of us. She is survived by her children, Michael (Pam) Jones of Enid, OK and Robert Jones of Braidwood; her grandchildren, Phillip and Brandon and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles from the Rainy side of the family. Preceding her in death were her loving husband of 41 years, Lum Jones, whom passed away July 4, 2010; her father, Dr. Nelson; mother, Lenore (nee Rainy), and her sister, Janet Nay. Cremation rites have been accorded. Private inurnment in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery will be held at later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated. R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Ltd., has been entrusted with arrangements. |
