Joseph Eugene King

Joseph Eugene King was born November 12, 1925 in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Joe attended Central High School in Muskogee. He attended Westminster College and graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1947. He was a Navy veteran and served on the U.S.S. Oakland.
Joe was married to Margaret (Peggy) Nichols in 1952. They lived in Muskogee briefly before living in Okmulgee for 14 years. The family moved to Enid in 1966 where Joe became Executive Vice President for Central National Bank. He later became President of the bank until his retirement. He continued to serve on its Board of Directors until his death. Joe was also a 50-year member and served on the Board of Directors of the Oklahoma Bankers Association.
While living in Enid, Joe was an active member of civic organizations, including Kiwanis, and the Enid Chamber of Commerce, serving as President of both organizations. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon, Elder and member of the choir.
Joe is survived by his wife, Peggy and his four sons, Tom and his wife Patty; David and his wife Marilyn; Bill; Jim and his wife Nancy; 8 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.
Visitation and family reception will be held at the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home from 6-8:00 p.m. Sunday evening, April 17. Private family internment will follow. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the First Presbyterian Church Manna Program.
