(May 14, 1947 - April 20, 2011) |
Funeral services for Joe Lee Campbell, 63 year-old Enid resident, will be 2:00pm Friday, April 22, 2011 in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dennis Treat officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Carrier. Services are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
Joe was born May 14, 1947 in Enid to Delbert and Lora Lee (Dyche) Campbell and suddenly passed away April 20, 2011. Joe definitely lived a fast and fun-filled life. He absolutely never met a stranger because of his high energy and gift of conversation. He attended Carrier School and graduated from OBA in 1966.
Joe and his dad built and raced high speed go-carts. He was a member of Enid's Remote Control Aircraft Club; he built and flew his elaborate aircrafts. Joe was a deeply devoted NASCAR racing fan. Joe owned and operated JLC Computer Business and was a talented computer gamer.
After Joe's second stroke, he was unable to talk, yet one could understand him by his smile, laughter, several animated facial expressions and energetic hand gestures. Despite Joe's profound limitations, he maintained his faith, determination and, of course, his sense of humor. His life's positive philosophy in many tough times was always, "I'll bounce back!" He is survived by his mother, Lora Lee Dyche-Campbell and his father, Delbert Campbell; sister, Jana Campbell; son, Joe Campbell, Jr.; daughter, Christina David; three grandchildren and his many faithful and loving cousins. Memorial contributions can be designated to Enid SPCA through the funeral home. |
