Funeral services for Elva Lee “Susie” Schram Peninger, 89 year-old Enid resident, will be 10:00am today, May 20, 2011 in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bryan Laramore officiating. Burial will follow in Enid Cemetery.
Susie was born April 8, 1922 in Enid to Arthur and Bertha (Richey) Schram and died May 17, 2011 at her home. She found the love of her life, Harvey J. "Smokey" Peninger and married him June 16, 1946 in Newton, Kansas. They made their home in Enid for nearly 60 years before he preceded her in death on May 18, 2006. She spent her life being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She and Smokey enjoyed square dancing with many different clubs in and around Enid for over 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers and two sisters.
Susie is survived by her two daughters, Connie Cude and husband, Rick, of Perry; Judy McBlair and husband, Jim of Enid; four grandchildren, Cristi Cude; Scott Cude and wife, Cynthia; David McBlair and wife, Melissa; and Holly McBlair-Deane; five great-grandchildren, Kourtnee and Sean Cude; Josh McBlair; and Mia and Miley Deane; two sisters-in-law, Hazel Nagel and Fern McGrew as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials can be made to the National Kidney Foundation with Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home acting as custodian of the fund. |
