 The graveside service for Dorothy E. Ratliff, 97 year-old Enid resident, will be Monday at 3:00PM, December 19, 2001 in Hillside Cemetery, Purcell, Oklahoma under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Reverend Davies Vanpool will officiate.Dorothy was born June 11, 1914 in Purcell to John and Mary (High) Newman and died Friday, December 16, 2011 in Greenbrier Nursing Home. She attended local schools in Purcell and graduated from Purcell High School. On May 15, 1931, she married Aubrey Ratliff in Purcell. The couple made their first home in Norman. They ultimately made their home in Enid. She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, gardening, and in her younger years, playing golf with her husband at Oakwood Country Club. She was also an avid O.U. football fan. She was loved by many because of her loving, kind, and gracious, Christian spirit. Dorothy is survived by nephew, Bill High and wife, Jo of Paoli, OK. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Aubrey in 1998. |
