The funeral service for Carol Jean (Mason) Fleig, 50, will be Monday, February 13, 2012 at 2:00PM at Central Assembly of God in Enid. Pastor Kevin Ward will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
Carol was born August 23, 1961 to Sgt. Milton George Mason and Lavona Pearl (Hern) Mason in Fort Bragg, NC. She passed away peacefully at home due to complications with Lupus. Carol was a 1979 graduate of Enid High School.
She married Charles A. Fleig on June 23, 1979 and they made their home in North Enid. They were married 32 years and welcomed two daughters in those years.
Carol was an Army brat, living on many Army posts during her childhood. She worked for Bear’s Automotive for 6 years before going on to work for Ward Petroleum where she remained for over 28 years. While at Ward, she touched many lives through her thoughtfulness, wonderful smile and kind words.
She was a long-time member of Central Assembly of God and a member of Desk and Derrick. Carol taught a Missionettes class at her church for many years. She enjoyed making pottery and baking delicious chocolate chip cookies for her family. Mostly she enjoyed spending time with her family---and more recently with her toddler granddaughter, JuJu. The most precious time was Christmas---making sure all the kids had the same number of gifts.
Carol is survived by her husband, Charles, of the home. Daughters, Andrea Ellen Dougherty and husband Marshall of Hinton, OK. and Carlie Marie Fleig of the home. Brother Stephen Mason and wife Roxann of Drummond, sisters Peggy Dian Mason of Enid and Linda Gray-Kellick and husband Dennis, of Skiatook, OK. , her in-laws, Rev. Richard D. Fleig and wife Charlene, one brother-in-law, Ron Fleig and wife Judy of Wichita, KS. One granddaughter , Julia Pearl “JuJu”, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to either the Charlie Fleig Education Fund to Benefit Carlie Fleig or to OMRF (Lupus Division). |
