CLASSEN, FAMILY MEMBER

Mr. and Mrs. George M. Classen were called to Konawa last week on account of the death of the latter's mother. Mr. Classen returned first of last week. Mrs. Classen will remain at that place a week or two before returning to Union.

DOBSON CHILD

The little child of G. C. Dobson, aged about 2 years, was buried at the McCoy cemetery southeast of Calumet Saturday at 11 a.m. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. S. W. Porter, pastor of the Presbyterian church. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community.

One of Mr. Hornburger's sons, who had been in bad health for some time, died Saturday and was buried at Red Rock Cemetery Monday afternoon.

Maney Funeral Held At El Reno---- El Reno, Aug.30--Funeral services for Mrs. James W. Maney of Oklahoma City whose death occurred last Monday at Manitou, Colo.. took place from Sacred Heart Catholic church here Friday. Father Gregory Gerrer, brother of Mrs. Manley, conducted high requiem mass, being assisted by fourteen other priests. Father Murphey, of Sacred Heart college, delivered the sermon. A large delegation of Oklahoma City friends were in attendance. The body was placed in the Maney mausoleum here.

MAXEY, CARL FREDERICK
Yukon Sun January 16, 1919
Carl Frederick Maxey was born March 19, 1876 at Ashley, Ill. Died at Elk City, Okla., January 14. 1919 age 42 years 9 months 25 days. Cause of death was pneumonia, followed by an attack of influenza. The body was laid to rest in Yukon Cemetery today, Thursday, January 16. Deceased leaves a wife and three children to mourn his loss, together with a sister and two brothers, the sister being Mrs. Myrtle Addington of this city.

MESSENGER, FRED

When Day Engineer Roberts arrived at Western ice plant this morning at 8 o'clock to begin his day's work, he was horrified to Fred Messenger, night engineer, lying dead on the platform near the machinery. Mr. Messenger ws a handsome young man and a favorite among the young people. The cause of the unfortunate man's death is not known. He was seen by a plat worker at 4:00 a.m. at his work, apparently well. It is probable that his death was caused by heart failure, but Justice Baunister is holding an inquest this afternoon. There was a scalp wound on one side of Messenger's head, which may have been caused by his falling. Fred Messenger was 27 years of age and made his home with his mother [Katie Messenger] and brother on a farm six miles east of Union City. His body will be taken to the family home tomorrow.

PARSONS, RICHARD E.
Yukon Sun January 16, 1919
Richard E. Parsons died Tuesday at his home place 7 miles south of town. Mr. Parsons has been sick for a number of years and his death came as the natural consequence of complications. He leaves a wife, one daughter and two sons, one of the boys, Roy, being in France with the 90th Division. The funeral was held Wednesday at the family home and the remains were placed in the Yukon Cemetery.

RESCH, MARVIN

OBITUARY Died January 2, 1909, Marvin A. Resch, son of Mr. Albert Resch, died at his home six miles from Calumet, after an illness of eleven days. His death was caused from a strain, done while assisting his father unload some baled hay, which caused an abcess to form in the pit of the abdomen. Dr. Clark of El Reno operated on him, but to no avail, the patient dying the next morning. He was taken ill on December 22. Mr. Resch was highly esteemed by all who knew huim. He was a member of the Red Rock Epworth League. The services were conducted by Rev. Booen at the Red Rock church. The floral wreaths of hothouse flowers were emmense and beautiful. Mr. Resch was born in Cedar Rapids Iowa and was 21 years and 2 months of age. He has lived in this community for 9 years. The pall bearers were Roy Wallace, Hugh Bright, Cecil Bright, Frank Bullock, Roscoe Bright and Chas. Van Gundy. Interment was at the Red Rock cemetery.

SMITH, MARY PEERY
Yukon Sun January 16, 1919
Mary Peery Smith was born at Leavenworth, Kansas, April 8, 1893, died at Yukon, Oklahoma, Janaury 8, 1919, aged 25 years, 9 months and 5 days. She moved to Missouri with her parents and was married to Mr. W. O. Smith in June 1909. To this union were born three surviving son, Arthur, Olin and Francis. Mr. Smith died a few months past while in Colorado for his health. Mrs. Smith is survived by, besides her children, two brothers, W. R. Peery of Joplin, Mo., and Leon H. Peery of West Virginia, together with relatives of Mr. Smith among whom Mrs. Mary Bonde of 4 miles southeast of Yukon and Mrs. Olga McElfresh of Yukon.

STARRY, MRS. LUTIE

Mrs. Lutie Starry of Alex died Tuesday night at eight p.m., at her home of pneumonia. The remains were brought here Thursday for interment. Mrs. Starry was the wife of S. E. Starry and the daughter of W. H. Towe, of northeast of town.

The stepmother of Mr. P. B. Thompson died at her home on Indian Creek in Knox Co., Kentucky a few days ago.

VIAN, ELIJAH
El Reno Daily Democrat April 15, 1921
OBITUARY Elijah Vian, age 78 years, died on Thursday afternoon about 5 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C.G. McCain, 517 West Woodson. The remains were taken to the home of the deceased at Yukon last night. Funeral sevices will be held at Yukon Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The deceased is survived by his wife and 10 children, who are Mmes. Chas. McCain, El Reno, J. A. Thompson and Allie Renfrow, Yukon Sadie Cochran, Elk City, Maude Cole, Ft. Worth, Texas; Messr. Frank, John, Charley, Ben and Earl Vian, all of Yukon. Three children preceded their father to the Great Beyond. Elijah Vian was born in Knox County, Ohio, subsequently moving to Kansas where the family lived until eighty-nine, when he took up a homestead near Yukon, where he lived until a short time ago. His death was due to complications of old age. The deceased was a good citizen in every respect and was well thought of by all who knew him.

Word received from Mrs. Wessie Warner of Oklahoma City, better known as Miss Vowels, of this place (Union City), states that the death angel had visited their home and taken away their only child, a little infant girl. We regret very much to hear of their misfortune and the bereaved ones have our heart's sympathy in their time of trouble.

WHIPPLE, W. H.

OBITUARY Mr. W. T. Whipple, an old and respected resident of this community, died at his home near here August 1, 1908. He was born in Clear County, Indiana, April 10, 1835. Aged 73 years, 8 months and 21 days. He married Mrs. Amanda Pavy in 1877. To this union was born one daughter, Mrs. Wm. Reed, who died two years ago. To a former marriage was born four children: Mrs. Mary Taylor of Indiana, Mrs. Ollie Underwood and Alva Whipple of Texas and Charles Whipple of Chicago. The funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. J. W. Booen of Calumet, Sunday August 2nd at 3:30 p.m. The remains were interred in the Red Rock Cemetery.

Mrs. Mary Yoder, of near Chickasha, died at herhome Monday afternoon. The report came here that she had the grippe. Mrs. Yoder was a young woman of fifteen, and had been married almost a year. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Doane of Chickasha, but was formerly a resident of Union City, and a sister of Mrs. Elra Wood. we extend our heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved ones,
