The Two Territories.
E. H. TOWNSEND,
a postmaster and general merchandise store keeper was killed in his store at Todd, eighteen miles west of Hennessey last Thursday night during an attempted robbery upon his place by three men. Todd is just over the line in Blaine county, and lies eighteen or twenty miles west of Henneseey. Here he has done an extensive business, which fact, no doubt, reached the ears of his murderers.
Mr.TOWNSEND was 48 years of age and stood high among his neighbors and in his lodge. He was the right worthy grand lecturer of Oklahoma in the order of Masons. The Masons are making every endeavor to discover the murderes, and the son who came to Hennessey for a coffin says he will know the parites if he sees them again.
The citizens of Blaine County are up in arms and declare that if the parties are found justice will be meted out to them in true western style.

A Pioneer Gone. James RILEY Passes Away at His Ranch.
James RILEY died Saturday morning at his ranch three miles west of Taloga and the remains were interred in the family burying ground Sunday afternoon. The deceased was a pioneer of Dewey county and was probably the best known man in this section of Oklahoma, having settled in what is now Dewey county about eighteen years ago and was identified with the development of the county from its organization.
Mr. RILEY was a prominent cattleman and for a number of years has been the owner of the largest herd of cattle in the county. Deceased was a member of the I. O. O. F. and Masonic fraternities and representatives of each of the Taloga and Lenora lodges officiated at the burial.
Five children survive him to mourn the loss of their father, who was devoted to them and whose greatest regret upon his death-bed was that he must leave them without the protection of a father or mother, their mother having died about a year ago. The entire community extends to the bereaved children in their irreparable affliction.
