THOMPSON
DIED: At the home of her son Albert Strever(s), Mariah M. Thompson passed
out of this temple of clay at 4 p.m. April 28th, after a lingering illness
with paralysis.
Grandma Thompson, as she is generally known, was born in Williams(on) County,
Ohio, October 1st, 1835. She was married to John Strever(s) June 17th, 1855.
To this union were born four boys, all of whom died in infancy except the
one mentioned above. In the sixties she was left a widow, her husband having
died in the service of his country. Oct 10, 1869 she was again married to
Mr. Thompson, who also preceded her into the valley of the shadow of death
by several years. After nearly 78 years of life's voyage battling with the
waves her frail bark has gone down. But her spirit we trust was received
by Jesus to whom she constantly called in the last hours of life. May the
good Lord shelter and feed the survivors in the home from which she has gone.
Rev. C.S. Warner conducted the funeral services, after which the remains
were laid to rest April 29th in the Mustang cemetery."
