CARL J SMITH July 26, 1922 - July 8, 1999 -Cement, Caddo
Co.
Carl J Smith, 76, of Empire died Thursday at Doctors Medical Center, Modesto.
Mr Smith was a native of Cement, Oklahoma. He lived in Empire 54 years.
He was a maintenance mechanic for 35 years. He was a Navy veteran of World
War II, serving from 1942 to 1945. He is survived by his wife, Lavila; children,
Harvey, Kenneth and Anita; brother, Austin; sister, Faye; and seven grandchildren
and four great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 11 am Monday
at Lakewood Funeral Home, Hughson. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial
Park, Hughson.
ESTELL B OLLAR January 10, 1910 - July 9, 1999 -LeFlore County
Estell Burton Ollar, 89, of Modesto died Friday at Doctors Medical Center.
Mr Ollar was a native of LeFlore County, Oklahoma. He had lived in
Modesto since 1943. He had a 27 year career as a cement finisher. He is survived
by his children, Oveta, Loretta, Charles, Harold, Samuel and Barbara; sisters,
Alta, Osie and Eunice; and 18 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. A
funeral will be conducted at 1 pm Monday at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel.
Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson.
ROSETTA R PRIDDY February 3, 1925 - July 11, 1999
Rosetta Ruth Priddy, 74, of Sonora died Sunday. Mrs Priddy was a native of
Cushing, Oklahoma. She lived in Sonora 22 years. She was active in
the American Cancer Society. She is survived by her husband, Roy; children,
Janette, Anita, Diana, and Bill Dobson; mother, Mary Hall; and five grandchildren
and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11 am Monday
at the Church of Christ. Heuton Memorial Chapel in charge of arrangements.
HARVEY B LANCASTER April 19, 1925 - July 14, 1999
Harvey Buford Lancaster, 74, of Turlock died July 14 at his home. Mr Lancaster
was a native of Oklahoma. He lived in Turlock 20 years and previously lived
in the Madera area. He retired in 1987 after a 43 years in the food-processing
industry. He was a member of Yosemite Masonic Lodge 99, Merced for almost
50 years. He is survived by his wife Christine; children, David and Lori;
brother, Henry; sisters, Helen and Patricia; and five grandchildren. A memorial
service will be conducted a 3 pm Saturday at Allen Mortuary.
GROVER E PRIBBLE September 23, 1920 - July 14, 1999
Grover Edward Pribble, 78, of Oakdale died Wednesday at Colony Park Convalescent
Hospital, Modesto. Mr Pribble was a native of Oklahoma. He lived in Oakdale
16 years. He was employed as a ranch hand for more than 50 years, working
on several cattle ranches. He was a member of the Moose Lodge. He was an
Army veteran of World War II. He is survived by his companion, Frankie; children
Gail, Perry, Theresa, Judy, Jim, Michael, and Debbie; and 18 grandchildren
and five great-grandchildren. Private services will be ocnducted. Interment
will be at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Santa Nella. Oakdale Memorial
Chapel in charge of arrangements.
AGNES M GUTHRIE December 30, 1914 - July 18, 1999
Agnes Maybelle Guthrie, 84, of Empire died Sunday at her home. Mrs Guthrie
was a native of Oklahoma. She lived in Empire 54 years. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Oak Valley Church, Oakdale. She is survived by her daughter,
Shirley; and seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and four great-great-
grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 10 am Wednesday at Oak Valley
Church, Oakdale. Burial will follow at Oakdale Citizens Cemetery, Oakdale.
RUBY L FERRELL September 26, 1912 - July 19, 1999
Ruby Lee Ferrell, 86, of Modesto died Monday at her home. Mrs Ferrell was
a native of Oklahoma. She lived in Modesto 49 years. She was a day care provider.
She was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church. She is survived by her
children, Burton, Walter and Judith; sister, Alice; and three grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 1:30 pm Wednesday at the McHenry Chapel of
Franklin & Downs. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson.
MARY A HICKS August 20, 1933 - July 19, 1999
Mary Ann "Chicken Mary" Hicks, 65, of Modesto died Monday at Doctors Medical
Center. Mrs Hicks was a native of Stillwater, Oklahoma. She lived
in Modesto eight years. She was a retail clerk. She was a member of the Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She is survived by her husband John;
children, Renee, Michelle and Donna; stepparents, Zeb and Mary; sister, Betty;
and three grndchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 pm Friday
Valley Home Memorial Park, Valley Home. Cunningham's Affordable Burial &
Cremation Centers, Ceres, in charge of arrangements.
JESSIE M RILEY September 1, 1926 - July 19, 1999
Jessie Mae Riley, 72, of Angels Camp died Monday at Mark Twain St Joseph's
Hospital, San Andreas. Mrs Riley was a native of Claremore, Oklahoma.
She had lived in Angels Camp since 1998 and previously lived in Turlock 10
years. She was a hospital housekeeper. She is survived by her children, Wayne
Glover, Sandra, Mike Riley and Pam; brothers, Shorty Williams, Tom Williams
and James Williams; and seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 10 am Saturday at Fellowship Baptist
Chapel, Turlock. Internment will be at Lakewood Memorial Park , Hughson.

ORVAL D NEAL March 26, 1949 - July 20, 1999
Orval D Neal, 50, of Waterford died Tuesday at his home. Mr Neal was a native
of Oklahoma. He lived in Waterford 20 years. He was a sales representative.
He was a youth football league coach. He is survived by his wife, E. Laura;
children, Shannon, Orval and Mark; stepchildren, Amber, Nereyda and Uriel;
brother, Roger; sisters, Riba and Stella; and six grandchildren. A funeral
will be conducted at 10 am today at Lakewood Funeral Home, Hughson. Burial
will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson. EASTER R JOHNSON April 4,
1915 - July 21, 1999 Easter Ray Johnson, 84, of Sonora died Wednesday at
Tuolumne General Hospital. Mr Johnson was a native of Ada, Oklahoma. He lived
in Sonora seven years. He was a maintenance man for 35 years. He was an Army
veteran, serving from 1941 to 1945. He is survived by his brothers, Nathan
and Woodrow; and sisters, Ruby, Edith, Lilly, Claudia and Mary. Private services.
Burial will be at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Santa Nella. Terzich
& Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
DORTHY MARTIN March 4, 1911 - July 21, 1999
Dorthy Martin, 88, of Modesto died Wednesday at her daughter's home in Riverbank.
Mrs Martin was a native of Oklahoma. She lived in Modesto nine years and
previously lived in Shawnee, Okla 40 years. She was a member of Pentecostal
Holiness Church in Oklahoma and attended Foursquare Gospel Church, Modesto.
She is survived by her children, Thurmon and Cozaey; sister, Ollie; brothers
Troy and Foy Pittman; and eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10 am Tuesday at Dale Cemetery,
Dale, Oklahoma. Oakdale Memorial Chapel, Oakdale, in charge of arrangements.
JARREL B REYNOLDS September 28, 1935 - July 21, 1999
Jerrel B Reynolds, 63, of Concord died Wednesday at Doctors Hospital of Manteca.
Mr Reynolds was a native of Stidham, Oklahoma. He lived in Concord
40 years and previously lived in Ceres from 1940 to 1959. He owned and operated
an air conditioning business for 35 years. He was active in 4-H and Girl
Scouts. He was a member of the Church of Christ, Ceres. He is survived by
his wife, Eva; children, Leann and Sherry; father, Fred; brothers, Bill and
Derrel; sisters, Darlene and Doris; and five grandchildren. A funeral will
be conducted at 1 pm Monday at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel, Modesto. Burial
will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson.
IRA B MOORE October 23, 1911 - July 22, 1999
Ira Benjamin Moore, 87, of Manteca died Thursday. Mr Moore was a native of
Canadian, Oklahoma. He lived in Manteca since November and previously
in Los Banos since 1961. He was a cement mason for 20 years. He was a founder
of the Church of the Nazarene, Los Banos. He also worked as a missionary
in Trinidad, where he helped build a church. He is survived by his children,
Ron and William; sister, Lula; and five grandchildren and many
great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at noon Monday
at Los Banos District Cemetery, Los Banos. Whitehurst Funeral Chapel, Los
Banos, in charge of arrangements.
MANCEL W WOMACK August 30, 1933 - July 22, 1999
Mancel W Womack, 65, of Manteca died Thursday at St Dominic's Hospital. Mr
Womack was a native of Oklahoma City. He lived in Manteca 30 years.
He was a machinist for the railroad. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy;
children, Darrell, Michael, Nancy, Peggy, Linda, Janet, Lisa, and Jim; brothers,
Floyd, John, Donald and James; sisters, Pauline, Betty, Dorothy, Lillie and
Erma. A funeral will be conducted at 2 pm Tuesday at PL Fry & Son Chapel.
Burial will be held at East Union Cemetery.
DEMOYE O BAKER November 28, 1913 - July 23, 1999
Demoye Ozella Baker, 85, of Turlock died Friday at Brndel Manor Convalescent
Hospital. Mrs Baker was a native of Stillwater, Oklahoma. She had
lived in Turlock since 1992. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She
is survived by her children, Charles, Donald, Joe and Raymond; and five
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be
conducted at 10 am Thursday at Mount Hope Cemetery, San Diego. No visitation.

JOHN MORGAN February 4, 1909 - July 24, 1999
John "High" Morgan, 90, Manteca died Saturday at Doctors Hospital, Manteca.
Mr Morgan was a native of Oklahoma. He lived in Manteca 49 years and previously
lived in Ripon 10 years. He was a 33 year employee of Sharps Depot, Lathrop;
he was a rigger and cable splicer. He performed as a rodeo clown with his
trick horse and mule. He was a former member of the Manteca Horse and Saddle
Club, and he helped organize the Junior Horse and Saddle Club, called Little
High Pockets. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He is survived
by his children, Opal and Eulys; sisters Pauline and Faye; and five
grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 am Wednesday at PL Fry & Son Chapel.
Burial will follow at Park View Cemetery.
JUNIOR O AUSTIN July 29, 1921 - July 27, 1999
Junior Olen Austin, 77, of Coulterville died Turesday at Sonora Community
Hospital, Sonora. Mr Austin was a native of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.
He lived in Coulterville 20 years. He was a maintenance mechanic with a can
company. He was president of the Greeley Hill Community Club. He served on
the Mariposa Planning Commission. He was a square dance caller for 13 years.
He was an Air Force veteran. He is survived by his wife Jacquelin; children,
Jerry, Kenneth and Judith; brother, Lawrence; and sex grandchildren. A graveside
service will be conducted at 11:00 am at Lone Tree Cemetery, Hayward. A memorial
service will be conducted at 1 pm August 6 at the Greeley Hill Community
Club, Greeley Hill. Terzich & Wilson Funeral Home, Sonora, in charge
of arrangements.
MAC BAYLESS December 7, 1919 - July 28, 1999
Mac Bayless, 79, of Modesto died Wednesday at his home. Mr Bayless was a
native of Oklahoma. He lived in Modesto 60 years. He retired in 1985 after
a 25 year career as a maintenance electrician. He was an Army veteran, serving
from 1944 to 1946. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; children, Lon, Scott
and Sherry; and six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A funeral will
be conducted at 11:30 am Monday the Colonial Chapel of Franklin & Downs.
Burial will follow at Acacia Memorial Park.
GEORGE H FORD February 3, 1918 - July 28, 1999
George Henry Ford, 81, of Modesto died Wednesday at Doctors Medical Center.
Mr Ford was a native of Haskell, Oklahoma. He lived in Modesto 68
years. He was a farmer for 30 years. He is survived by his wife, Juanita;
children, Ella, Keith and Michael; brother, Roe; and five grandchildren and
four great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at 9:30 am
Saturday at Ceres Memorial Park, Ceres.
GLENN E PARKER August 3, 1915 - July 28, 1999
Glenn Eugene Parker, 73, of Oakdale died Wednesday at his home. Mr Parker
was a native of Oklahoma. He lived in Oakdale 33 years. He was a 33 year
employee of Pacific Gas & Electric; he was a foreman clerk. He was a
member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He is survived
by his companion, Joyce; children, Michael, Gregory, Steve and Rhonda; brothers,
Bill, Jay and Jerry; sisters, Judy and Dorothy; and four grandchildren and
one great-grandchild. A funeral will be conducted at 10 am Monday at the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Burial will follow at Oaklawn
Memorial Park.
