A little girl arrived at Mr. Walter MILLERS, Thursday.

Miss May WAGONER sold her turkeys at Mulhall Thursday.

Mr. and Mrs. Louis BUSSARD visited at Lavina, Okla last week.

Mrs. Rose MORRIS and daughter visited at her brother, Walter MILLER Sunday.

Misses Virgie and Esther MURPHY entertained a number of young folks last Friday evening, those present were, Myrtle, Vera and Gerald BEEBY?, Miss BUZZARD, Miss Dora CASSIDY, Mr. Lee CHAPMAN and Mr. Bob CASSIDY, Rachel HEARN and Edythe STATON.

George BEEBY and family and Mr. and Mrs. Geo KINISON visited Sunday at R.A. BROWN'S.

Miss Sadie WEBER and Edith SCHMINKE returned home Tuesday after a visit at Lahoma with friends and family.

Miss Rachel HEARN, of Marshall spent Friday night with Miss Esther MURPHY.

Miss Edith STATON, spent Friday night with Miss Myrtle BEEBY.

Alvin V. ROSS was born at Bellfontaine, Ohio, October 9, 1840, and died at Elk Falls, Kansas, Dec. 2, 1915. Aged 75 years, 1 mo., 28 das.
When a young man he moved to Mahaska County, Iowa, where on January 9, 1808, he married to Miss Andromecba HENDERSON. Four children being born to the union as follows; Sadie, Alvin Jr., Clara and George.
Only one of the children, George is now living. In 1880 the family moved to Oklahoma and homesteaded what is known as the Ross farm south of Marshall. On November, 11, 1908, Mrs. ROSS died. Since then Mr. ROSS has made his home here and at Guthrie. He has made several visits to the home of his boyhood in Ohio. November 18 he went to Elk Falls, Kansas, where on Dec. 2, he was married to Mrs. Ella KEITH.
The remains were brought here for burial, funeral services being held at the Christian church, of which he was a member, at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Taylor conducted the services. A large crowd was present. The remains were laid to rest in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery south of town.
Mr. ROSS was a fine citizen and neighbor. He served as a Union soldier during the Civil war. The cause of his death was apoplexy. He was ill only about thirty minutes. (Mr. Chas Simmons, a former citizen of this place accompanied the remains of Alvin Ross here from Elk Falls, Kansas.)
