M.F.CALLOWAY Once of Blue Ridge Dies in Oklahoma (Grandfield Enterprise)
After being ill one week, M.F. CALLOWAY, residing a mile and a half southeast of Hollister, Oklahoma, died at his home Saturday morning and on account of the condition of his aged mother who resides at Blue Ridge, Texas; over the shock of the man's death, burial was made in the afternoon in order that relatives could go back to her bedside.
Mr. CALLOWAY had been a resident of the Hollister community since the opening of the Big Pasture, settling on a claim that he developed and made into a home.
The large gathering at the home and the church filled to overflowing a swell as the beautiful floral offering, attested his popularity in that community.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Jenks, pastor of the Baptist church and Rev. Webb, pastor of the Methodist church of Hollister. Both paid splendid tributes to the deceased. Followed by a large procession of relatives and friends, the body was taken to the Hollister cemetery and laid to rest beside two of his children.

M.F. CALLOWAY, deceased, was born to Mr. and Mrs. W.J. CALLOWAY, December 22, 1871, at Rockcastle County, Kentucky, moving from that state to Texas with his parents. After growing to manhood near Blue Ridge, Texas, he moved to this county in 1904 settling for a year at Tipton and when the  Big Pasture was thrown open for settlement he drew a claim and moved to it, and with the exception of a few years back in his old home at Blue Ridge has been a resident of Tillman county.
He was married to Miss Minnie STEWART at Blue Ridge, January 8, 1895, and to this union were born ten children, seven of whom survive together with his widow the children being: Mrs. Ross Samples, Mrs. M.L. Womble, M.F., Jr., Cleatus and Jonnie W., all of Hollister; Cecil CALLOWAY, in the U.S. Navy at San Pedro, California, and Mrs. Lena Harben, Blue Ridge, Texas.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Marcee CALLOWAY, aged 83 of Blue Ridge, Texas and of the following brothers and sisters; George H., Dallas, Texas; Harve R., Frisco, Texas; Jack CALLOWAY, Hollister, and Mrs. B.M. Pike, Frederick.
The three children preceding him in death were: Leo, Edna and Ruby Pearl. Mr. CALLOWAY was a member of the Baptist church, having lived in that faith for 30 years and belonged to the following fraternal organizations: The I.O.O.F., the M.W.A., W.O.W., and The Ku Klux Klan, the latter placing a beautiful cross beside his casket during the funeral services at the church.
All of his children were present with the exception of Cecil and his brothers and sisters with the exception of George CALLOWAY of Dallas.
Mr. CALLOWAY was a devout Christian and loved to exemplify his worship through song, being a regular attendant at the singing conventions, choir services and any place where hymns in praise of his Master were sung.
Like every pioneer in a new country, Mr. CALLOWAY fought the battles of life with the patience that stamps a man and proves his real worth and the prosperity began to dawn and his reclining days could have been more luxuriant, the scythe of the Grim Reaper reached out and cut him down.
