Nov. 18,1954

MEEKS
Homer Lafeete, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Meeks, was born at Springer, Okla., May 9, 1910, and departed this life November 10, 1954 at Anadarko  at the age of 44 years, six months and one day.
He grew to manhood at Springer and moved to Binger in 1927 where he engaged in farming during the remainder of his life.   He was united in marriage to Artis Skelton in November, 1928, and to this union five Childrenwere born.
He accepted Christ as his personal Savior and united with the Baptist Church in 1938. His last words were a prayer of forgiveness.  He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Artis and daughter, Donna Joyce: a son Homer Darrel, at  home: daughter Iris Jearlene Belt, Binger: sons Curtis O'Neal, Willow Springs, Wyoming: Herman LaVone, U.S. Army.
Also his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Meeks Springer, Okla: four sisters, Mrs. Lloyd Owens, Springer: Mrs. J.E. Bates, Lokeba: Mrs. Ellis Hitt, Lookeba: Mrs. Kenneth Gardner, Binger. Two brothers, Trigg Meeks, Woodford, Okla. and Jearl Meeks, Ardmore. Two grandchildren, Duane Belt and Suzette Joan Meeks, and many other relatives and friends.

FERGUSON, SKELTON, MASON, MEEKS, LANTRIP, ARMSTRONG
Mary Etta FERGUSON  was born in Myrtle, Mississippi July 18, 1876 and departed this life June 15, 1955 at Anadarko, Oklahoma at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 27 days.
She grew to womanhood in Myrtle and moved to Searcy, Arkansas, where she united in marriage to Frank SKELTON, September 16, 1894. To this union 6 children were born. Her husband and two sons preceeded her in death.
Early in life she accepted Christ and twenty eight years united with the Binger Baptist church. She moved with her husband and family to the Binger community in 1916 and made this her home until her death.
She leaves to mourn her passing, two daughters, Mrs. Jewel Mason, Mrs. Artis Meeks, Binger: two sons, Guy of Binger and Raymond of Chowchilla, California. Also three sisters, Mrs. Lena Lantrip, and Mrs. Annie Armstrong,  Pontiac, Michigan, and Mrs. Lula Woodall, Flint, Michigan. One brother, Lee Ferguson, Searcy, Arkansas. Fourteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, besides many other relatives and friends.
Additional information by submitter: Mary Etta Ferguson  Skelton is my grandmother. She is the wife of Frank Skelton.and the parents of my father Raymond. She is burried beside her husband in the Murray Cemetery at Binger, Ok.
She has a tombstone, he does not.

MEEKS
BINGER - Services for Artis MEEKS, 73 of Binger were held at 2 p.m. today in the Binger Baptist Church with the Rev. cletus Doster, pastor, officiating.
Mrs. MEEKS, a housewife, died Saturday at Southwestern Memorial Hospital in Weatherford.She moved to Caddo county with her parents as a child and was a member of the Binger Baptist Church. her husband, Homer preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons, O'Neal and Homer Jr. both of Binger, and Herman of Miami. Two daughters, Gearlene KING of Avondale, Arizona, and Donna Long of Newcastle. 16 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Burial was in the binger Cemetery under direction of the Gragg Funeral Home.
Additional information by submitter: Artis is my Aunt. She is a sister to my dad, Raymond SKELTON. Artis is burried in the Murray Cemetery at Binger, beside her husband.
