Obituary

Wellington Enterprise, 18 Jan 1911 pg 7

In Memoriam.
Henry William Schroeder was born in Woldegk, Germany, July 10, 1830. After his school days were completed he traveled, visiting nearly every country on the eastern and western hemispheres. After coming to the United States he served three years in the U.S. navy. On May 17th, 1863, he was married to Miss Caroline Dehn of Amherst township, Ohio where he resided ten years, after which he lived a number of years in Pittsfield township, and the remainder of his life in Wellington. In 1906 he visited his Fatherland once more. He was well educated, spoke several languages and loved to talk about his travels and many experiences, and often of evenings he would sit by the fireside and tell his children of the many lands and places he had seen. He was a highly respected citizen, and will be greatly missed. He died January 7th, 1911. He leaves a wife, two daughters, Lydia and Mrs. Rose Secrist, besides a large circle of friends and relatives to mourn his loss.

Those from outside in attendance at the funeral were: Mr. Wm Schroeder, Mr. M.P.Martin, Mr. and Mrs. B.R. Wangerim, Cleveland; Mr. and Mrs. E. Schramm, Mr. and Mrs. Simson Nash, Mrs. D. Schramm, Carl Schramm, Mrs. G. Striker, Mrs. Chas. Dehn, Mabel Dehn, Mrs. H. Horning, W.B.
