Obituary
Hugh Chambers was born in Litchfield Medina Co., Ohio, April 2, 1838. At the age of 1 years he came to Penfield to make his home with Samuel Knapp. His life was spent on the farm where he was raised.

On Nov. 28, 1865, he was united in marriage to Maggie Nicely. To this union were born three children, S.B., B.N, and Ellis D., which last one the Heavenly Father called home after the short stay of 13 months. When he was 26 years of age he enlisted in the Union army and served 3 years and 6 months in the Civil War. After returning from the war his health began gradually to fail and for the past 20 years he has been a patient sufferer. On Dec. 11th, he was stricken with apoplexy which caused a fall with broken hip.

From this he never rallied, and on Dec. 18th, he passed away at the age of 79 years, 8 months and 27 days. He leaves a wife, two sons and two grandchildren.
