S. Sgt. David P. Campbell, aged 32, was the son of Mrs. Wilbur McMullen.
He had been in the army three years and five months, having entered
in March 1941. After his training in this country he was sent first
to Ireland in September, 1943, where he was stationed for three
months. Then he went to England until his division, the Second,
under General Omar Bradley, was called to take part in the invasion
of France. . . ."

"Casualties were many this week as Warren countians in
South Lebanon, Mason, Red Lion, Waynesville and Sugar Run were reported
as wounded in action and Mason and Mauds men killed in action in
France. Pvts. Eugene Case and Harry
Cogan, entered the service on the same day, trained together
went overseas together and were both seriously injured one day apart.
Pvt. Case died the next day.
The War Department Friday notified Mrs. Jewel Losh Case, that her
husband Pvt. Roscoe Eugene Case,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Case of Mason was seriously wounded in
action in Germany on November 18. Word came Tuesday he had died
of wounds on November 19.
Pvt. Case entered the service on March 24, 1944 and trained at Camp
Wolters, Texas. He was assigned to overseas service in September.
After attending Mason high school he worked at Wright Aeronautical,
Lockland, before entering the service. His widow, a daughter, Sarah
Jane and his parents survive.
Mrs. Dorothy Ivins Cogan of Red Lion received a telegram from the
War Department Friday notifying her that her husband Pvt. Harry
Kenneth Cogan, was seriously wounded in action on November 17 in
Germany. Pvt. Cogan entered the service in March, 1944, trained
at Camp Wolters and went overseas in September. The son of Mr. and
Mrs. Harry Cogan of Middletown, he was associated with Armco in
the payroll department before entering the service. Pvt. And Mrs.
Cogan have a daughter, Beverly, three years old."

in 1929, where he lived until entering the Army Air Corps in December
1941. He was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant on 5 August 1942. His
military career included duty in the Operations and Intelligence
fields. During World War II, he served as an operations controller
in a B-26 Combat Bomb Wing in Europe. During the Korean Conflict,
Mr. Cash served as Director of Targets, FEAF Bomber Command in Japan.
He served a total of 14 years with Strategic Air Command. Mr. Cash
retired from the Air Force in December, 1963 as a Lieutenant Colonel
with 22 years of service. His decorations include the Bronze Star
Medal with oak leaf cluster, Air Medal with two oak leaf clusters
and the Air Force Commendation Medal. . . ."

were received by the parents in a letter written by the lad’s
uncle, T. N. Casson, MM1/c, serving with the Seabees
in the Marianas Islands. Casson wrote that Hollon had been removed
to a base hospital in the Marianas following Iwo Jima and that he
had visited him on several occasions.
He found him in good spirits and apparently making satisfactory
recovery, Casson wrote, and early in March plans were being made
to remove Hollon to a recuperation center in Hawaii. On March 9,
Casson reported that his condition was unchanged but that two days
later when he visited the hospital he learned that Hollon had died
suddenly and unexpectedly on the 10th. . . ."

"Casualties were many this week as Warren countians in
South Lebanon, Mason, Red Lion, Waynesville and Sugar Run were reported
as wounded in action and Mason and Mauds men killed in action in
France. Pvts. Eugene Case and Harry
Cogan, entered the service on the same day, trained together
went overseas together and were both seriously injured one day apart.
Pvt. Case died the next day.
The War Department Friday notified Mrs. Jewel Losh Case, that her
husband Pvt. Roscoe Eugene Case,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Case of Mason was seriously wounded in
action in Germany on November 18. Word came Tuesday he had died
of wounds on November 19.
Pvt. Case entered the service on March 24, 1944 and trained at Camp
Wolters, Texas. He was assigned to overseas service in September.
After attending Mason high school he worked at Wright Aeronautical,
Lockland, before entering the service. His widow, a daughter, Sarah
Jane and his parents survive.
Mrs. Dorothy Ivins Cogan of Red Lion received a telegram from the
War Department Friday notifying her that her husband Pvt. Harry
Kenneth Cogan, was seriously wounded in action on November 17 in
Germany. Pvt. Cogan entered the service in March, 1944, trained
at Camp Wolters and went overseas in September. The son of Mr. and
Mrs. Harry Cogan of Middletown, he was associated with Armco in
the payroll department before entering the service. Pvt. And Mrs.
Cogan have a daughter, Beverly, three years old."

where he received training at Dearborn, Michigan, Airplane Engine
School at Ford's River Rouge Factory. He also received training
at McDonald Douglas Aircraft Plant in Long Beach, California. He
served in the 98th Squadron of the 440th Troop Carrier Group of
the 8th Army. He was a crew member on the C47 during WW II. The
crew's main mission was to supply General Patton's tank division.
The crew followed Patton throughout Europe. They also dropped paratroopers
and transported the wounded. He was a Tech-Sergeant-Aerial Engineer.
