here in Camp Runyan, or in Camp Sheridan, Alabama, or on the battle

"He was a member of the 334th Machine Gun Company of the 84th
Infantry Division and fought on the Meuse-Argonne front in France.
For many yeares he was one of a group of World War I veterans who
met at the Landmark Restaurant to celebrate what they continued
to call Armistice Day long after it had been changed to Veterans
Day. There was no reunion in November 1992 because the membership
had dwindled to one.
"He was a member of American Legion Post 149 in Franklin, and
a past commander. He was also a member of the Veterans of
Foreign Wars, Franklin Post 7596."
