In Korea,
he was a member of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 32nd Infantry
Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. On November 28, 1950, his unit,
as a part
of Task Force MacLean, was deployed along the Main Supply Route
east of the
Chosin Reservoir, North Korea. The 80th Chinese Division struck
his unit,
which was ordered to withdraw. He was Killed in Action while trying
to break
through enemy road blocks. His remains were not recovered.
