Inez Leonora (Brown) Noble
(1864-1947)
Noble Services Held Wednesday
Funeral services for Mrs. Inez B. Noble, 82, who died
at her home in Huntington W. Va., Saturday morning, of a heart attack,
were held Wednesday at 2 p. m. in the Oswald Funeral Home. Burial was
in Bethany Cemetery.
A native of Lebanon, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church,
Huntington, W. Va.
Surviving are a son, Cyril Noble, New Vienna, a daughter,
Miss Anna Noble, Huntington, a brother Charles
Brown, of Dayton, and a sister, Mrs. Irwin Gustin,
Lebanon.

OBITUARY
In Loving Memory of Mrs. John Myron Noble, nee Inez Leonora Brown
Inez Brown Noble was born near Lebanon, Ohio, on Jul
29, 1864, the daughter of Norman
and Edith Hizar Brown.
She attended the Rock School
and later studied voice under Miss Blanche Scoville of
Lebanon. She continued her education at the National
Normal University at Lebanon where she was graduated with the degree
of Instructor in Music in 1888 and with the degree of Artist in Music
in 1889. During the next two years she taught music in Middletown, Ohio.
On October 15, 1891, she was united in marriage with Mr. John
Myron Noble, Principal of Plains Seminary in Meigs County, Ohio.
After her husband's untimely death, she returned with her two children
to her girlhood home, Lebanon, Ohio, and resided there with them until
1920. While in Lebanon she was a faithful member of the choir of the Main
Street Presbyterian Church and had a number of music pupils.
For the next four years she and her children lived in Springfield, Ohio,
and after that she and her daughter made their home together, spending
their summers with her son.
The last six years of her life were spent in Huntington, West Virginia,
where she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. There she passed
away on May 24, 1947.
A most loving and self-sacrificing wife and mother _?_ and counselor,
a patient endurer of suffering, a harbinger of cheerfulness and joy, an
alert and eager mind, a sweet and lovely singer, a bearer of a steadfast
Christian faith one who saw good in everything and beauty all about her
such a one was Inez Brown Noble who will be sadly missed
by everyone who had the joy and privilege of knowing her.
Her immediate survivors are her son, Norman Cyril Noble,
pharmacist of New Vienna, Ohio, and her daughter, Alma Nease Noble,
of the Marshall College faculty of Huntington, W. Virginia. Besides these
a sister, Mrs. Irwin Gustin of Lebanon, Ohio, a brother,
Charles Brown of Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio, and
several nieces and nephews. survive.

His mercy underlies.
And if my heart and flesh are weak
To bear an untired pain,
The bruised reed He will not break
But strengthen and sustain.
No offering of my own I have,
Nor works my faith to prove;
I can but give the gifts He gave,
And plead His love for love.
And so beside the Silent Sea
I wait the muffled oar;
No harm from Him can come to me
On ocean or on shore,
I knew not where his islands lift
Their fronded palms in air;
I only know I cannot drift
Beyond His love and care".
