David P. Campbell

S/Sgt David Campbell
. . . killed in action July 14

S. Sgt. David P. Campbell, aged 32, was the son of Mrs. Wilbur McMullen. He had been in the army three years and five months, having entered in March 1941. After his training in this country he was sent first to Ireland in September, 1943, where he was stationed for three months. Then he went to England until his division, the Second, under General Omar Bradley, was called to take part in the invasion of France.

He had written his mother several times a week, giving only fleeting glimpses of the terrific seiges.

Surviving is a former wife, Mrs. Betty Igo and their seven year old son at Franklin, the mother and a brother, Harold, of Baltimore and a sister, Mrs. Garnet Schwetzler of Dayton.

Dorothy Campbell (1916-2007)

Dorothy Campbell, age 90 of Franklin, formerly of Wayland, Kentucky, went
to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 4, 2007. She was born on April 27,
1916. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gene; one sister, one
brother, and a very special niece, Sue Triplett. She is survived by her daughter
Dorothy (Dencil) Waugh of Franklin; a grandson Jeffrey (Kelly) Waugh of
Carlisle; a granddaughter Amy (Michael) Dillon of Franklin; and three
great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Brogan and Karson Waugh and Aubrie
Dillon. She is also survived by several great nieces and a nephew; Beth, Beverly,
Carol, Charlotte, and Tim. The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Frazier
and staff for their extra special care. Anderson Funeral Home is handling
the Arrangements. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of

Garnet Ruth Campbell (1909-1948)

Garnet Campbell Buried Saturday.
Funeral services for Garnet Ruth Campbell, aged 38, who died at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton Thursday night after a short illness, were held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Oswald Funeral Home. Burial was in Lebanon Cemetery.
She was a native of Mt. Orab.
Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Wilbur McMullen, Lebanon; one son, Richard Irons, Lytle and one brother, Harold Campbell, Lebanon.

Harold R. Campbell (1908-1976)

Harold Campbell.
Harold R. Campbell, 68, of 8244 N. Boundary Rd., Dundalk, Md., and formerly of Lebanon, died Sunday.
He is survived by his wife, Freda, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Oswald Funeral Home in Lebanon, with Burial in Lebanon Cemetery. Calling house Thursday will be 2-4 and 6-9 pm.m at the funeral home.

James E. Campbell (1882-1924)

Obituary.
James E., son of O. P. and Margaret Campbell was born January 15, 1882, and departed this life January 23, 1924, age 42 years and 8 days. He leaves to mourn his loss a devoted wife, two sons and one daughter, two sisters, Mrs. F. W. Kibler and C. A. Layman, both of Mt. Orab, Ohio, and a host of friends and relatives. He was reared in a Methodist home of which he remained a member until his death.

MORE THAN A CENTURY.
Mrs. Mary Campbell Dies at Franklin
After a Life of One Hundred Years and One Month.

At twelve o’clock on Wednesday (noon) Mrs. Mary Campbell, the oldest inhabitant of Warren County, dies at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Samuel Woodward, in Franklin, at the advanced age of one hundred years and one month. She had no particular illness, but for the past ten days has been steadily failing. She passed away surrounded by the members of her family, and fully retained her consciousness to the last.
On March 20 Mrs. Campbell celebrated her one hundredth anniversary of her birth. She was born in the northern part of Pennsylvania, her maiden name being Small. When she was ten years of age her family determined to move west, and Mrs. Campbell walked all the way from her birthplace to Pittsburg. About a year later they arrived at the site of Franklin, and purchased land which is still in possession of the family. A few months later Franklin was laid out.
In 1806, our subject married Samuel Campbell. Of their children but three survive, Edwin R. Campbell, now in California, William H. Campbell, of Hamilton, and Mrs. Woodward. Mr. and Mrs. Campbell lived happily together for forty years when he was killed by the kick of a horse. Mrs. Campbell continued to live on the farm until a few years ago when she was removed tot her daughter’s home in Franklin. For the past twelve years with the exception of the time she has been confined to her room, being too feeble to be moved about. She was very patient and never complained during this entire period.
In religion Mrs. Campbell was raised a Presbyterian and has always adhered to that creed. The funeral services will be held to-day at half-past ten o’clock and the remains will be interred in Greenwood Cemetery at Hamilton. The pall bearer will be Henry L. Morey, James E. Campbell, Aaron Campbell, William Campbell, E. G. Rathbone and Clarence Harding, the grandsons of Mrs. Campbell.

• Greenwood Cemetery Records Interment #7015 indicate that Mary Small Campell was buried in a lot owned by Joseph Reily on 24 Apr 1886 and later disenterred and removed to Franklin, Ohio.
• Woodhill Cemetery Records indicate that Mary is buried in Section 4 Lot 28 grave 9 and her husband, Samuel, in Section 4 Lot 28 grave 1.

  "They had eleven children between 1807 and 1831: Andrew, Daniel, Lewis, William, James, Edwin, Catherine, Mary, Anna, Abner, Mary, and Samuel. Andrew became a physician, Edwin was publisher of the Cincinnatti Times Star, William was a state Senator, and Lewis was in the U.S. congress fwor 13 years, and Colonel of the 69th Regiment OVI in the Civil War. Grandson James E. Campbell was governor of Ohio in 1888, and a great-grandson was Gen. E. Forrest Harding. . . ."
