Retired Naval Officer Dies
Carl Baker, 70, retired Naval officer and former Warren County resident, died Sunday at Veterans Hospital in Cincinnati. For many years he lived at the Metropole Hotel in Cincinnati. He has no immediate survivors.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Oswald Memorial Home with the Rev. Carl Hicks officiating. Burial was in Lebanon Cemetery.

Hannah Woodruff (Heaton) Baker (1801-1839)

OBITUARY NOTICES.
Died, on Sabbath morning last, after a most painful illness, Mrs. Hannah W. Baker, consort of Dr. H. Baker of this place and eldest daughter of James Heaton, Esq. of Butler co. She was born in Green county, Penn., Dec. 14, 1801. Her parents emigrated to Ohio when she was an infant, since when she has resided in Butler and Warren counties. She was the subject of much affliction through life. In childhood, she suffered much from scrofulous affections, which sensibly affected her in after live. And for the last ten years she scarcely enjoyed a single day’s health. Her last attack was extremely severe, which she bore with much patience, in humble submission to the will of Heaven. After suffering for more than three weeks with scarcely any mitigation of her pain, having admonished and exhorted her friends to prepare for death; and having committed her family to God, and give to anyone her dying admonition, she expired without a struggle, a sigh or a groan. By this event, a husband and four children have suffered an irreparable loss.
Dr. Baker would take this opportunity to express his gratitude to his brethren of the medical profession; to those female friends of his late wife, who were so assiduous and indefatigable in their kind attention to her during her last illness; and to the citizens of Lebanon generally for their friendly offices during this scene of deep affliction. Of all those kind and friendly attentions he will ever cherish the most grateful remembrance.

Katherine Baker Is Buried Friday

Services were held at the grave in Lebanon Cemetery last Friday for Katherine Lamb Baker, 85, who died at her home in Boston, Mass., on April 8. Rites were held in Boston Thursday.
Mrs. Baker was born in Lebanon, the daughter of Daniel and Henrietta Lamb. Her father was killed in the Civil War.
She is survived by a son, Carl S. Baker of Boston, who is a former naval officer of 20 years service in the Spanish and World War I."

Sarepta Marsh Baker (1804-1890)

Death of a Former Citizen of Lebanon.
Mrs. Sarepta Marsh Baker, was born at Phelps, Ontario County, N.Y., October 12, 1804, and died at her residence, on Broadway, Piqua, at 9 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 1890, aged 85 years, 4 months and 6 days.
Her funeral took place at 10 o'clock on Monday morning, 20th.
While located at Worthington she was married to Rev. Henry Baker, June 2d, 1841. With him she shared the life of an itinerant minister and while living in Lebanon she again taught for a time.
