The State of Ohio Warren County ss
Oct. Term 1818
Application for Naturalization

Personally appeared in open Court William Wood an applicant for naturalization who on being duly sworn according to Law deposeth and saith that he is thirty three years of age that he was born in the County of Wilshire in England from whence, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eleven being then a minor under the age of twenty one years to wit of the age of sixteen years, he emigrated with his father’s family to the United States of America, that he now resides & has continued to reside in the United States, for the term of seventeen years, and that he has been a resident of the County of Warren in the State of Ohio for at least the term of ten years past except a few months in Butler county & Kentucky and the said William Wood saith that during this time he has been a resident in the United States aforesaid he has been attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same; and that it has been bona fide his intention for at least the term of three years past to become a citizen of the United Sates. And he further saith upon his solemn oath that he will support the Constitution of the United States; and that he doth absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state or sovereignty whatever, and particularly he renounces all allegiance and fidelity to his Majesty the King of Great and Ireland &c. to whom he was heretofore a subject, and the said William also saith that he has never borne any heredity title or been of any of the orders of nobility in any country whatever.

Personally appeared in open court Peter Beller & Allen Wright citizens of said county who being sworn depose & say that they are acquainted with William Wood of this County an applicant for Naturalization and that said William Wood has resided for more than five years in the United States immediately preceding this time & that he has always behaved as a man of good moral character attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States & well disposed to good order & the happiness of the same
