Be it remembered that I John Wickerham of Warren County and state of Ohio being weak in body but of sound mind and memory and being aware of the certainty of Death but the uncertainty of the time thereof And being desirous of settling my worldly affairs do make and publish this my last Will & Testament in manner and form following

To Wit, First my will is that after my decease my widow shall shall [sic] select so much of my personal property as she may wish to retain for her convenience And the balance of my chattle property to be sold by my Executor herinafter named And out of the proceeds thereof together with any cash and credits that I may have that he pay all my just debts and funeral expenses. And the balance of said proceeds I give to my beloved wife with the property she may select as above for her own proper use and benefit.

2nd My will is that my wife shall have the farm on which I now live containing about one hundred & sixty four acres more or less which I hold by four several deeds from Morris, Nickerson, Thatcher and Corwin for her own proper use and benefit during her life. And after her decease I give the said farm to my half brothers and sisters in equal share and share alike to wit, to Mathias Corwin Richard Corwin Ichabod Corwin Joseph Corwin William Corwin Benjamin Corwin Keziah Schnorff & Mary Newport – to them and their heirs and assigns forever.

3rd. My will is that my wife shall have the rent of my farm that I hold by deed from Benjamin Hathaway situated in Section no. 18 T4 & R3 for the term of two years from the first day of April next. At that time I give the said devises to my wife in lieu of her dower. And the said farm in sect. No. 18 containing about 73 acres at the expiration of the term of two years afforesaid I give to Samuel W. Hardy to him and his heirs for their own use and benefit forever – And lastly I nominate and appoint my friend Joseph Keenan Executor of this my last Will and Testament.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand

and seal this 15th day of February in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred & thirty seven.
