Pleas begun and held at Lebanon in the County of Warren & State of Ohio
on the second day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and forty one before the Honerable Benjamin Hinkson president Judge of the Court
of Common Pleas for the Seventh Circuit and James Cowan John Hart and William
Wickle Esquirer’s Associate Judges-
Jonathan BOORAM et al
vs.
Solomon REMLEY
Be it remembered that here to fore to wit on the thirtieth day of September
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & thirty nine, Jonathan
BOORAM & wife by Smith & Probasco
Esquire, their Solicitor filed in the Court of Common pleas here their petition
in the words and of the ???? Following court-
“To the Court of Common pleas within and for the County of Warren &
State of Ohio Your petitioner Jonathan BOORAM & Mary BOORAM late Mary REMLEY
of Champaign County Ohio represent to the Honorable Court that they have a legal
right to and are seized in fee simple of one undivided seventh tract of the
land herein after described-
Your petitioner represent that Christian REMLEY the father of your petitioner
died many years since leaving a lawful widow Elizabeth REMLEY who since intermarried
with one Aaron BOORAM of Hamilton county Ohio & that the following described
property descended to your petitioner with others subject to the dower of said
Elizabeth BOORAM-
The property owned by the said Christian REMLEY at his death is as follows viz
Beginning at the south east corner of the second section in the third township
and second Range between the Miami River in Warren County Ohio , thence running
West 40 poles To Adam MERCHES Beginning corner thence north 40 poles thence
East 91 poles, thence North 81 poles & 16 links thence East 49 poles to
the east line of said section , thence south 12 poles & 16 links to the
place of beginning containing 60 acres of land Strict measure-
Also another tract of 11 ¾ acres of land in said County of Warren Ohio
beginning at the North East corner of the said Christian Remley land on the
east line of the said Second Section in the third township & Second entire
range in the Miami purchase and County aforesaid tjemce rimmomg mprtj 38 poles
& 84 links thence west 49 poles, thence South 38 poles & 84 links thence
East 49 poles to the place of beginning-
From which two tracts of land the said Christian REMLEY & Elizabeth on the
23d of February 1809 convey to Samuel YEAMAN & others a piece of land to
be taken off the second section and third entire Range of Townships in the Miami
purchase. Beginning on the County line between Warren & Hamilton Counties
at Isaac CHORDS corner running east 72 rods to a stake thence North 40 rod to
a stake, thence West 72 rods to a stake, thence 40 rods south to the place of
beginning containing 18 acres; Amd one other tract conveyed by Abraham SKINNER
& Jonathan WHITACKRE administration of said Christian REMLEY in purserance
of an order of War Com pleas and a contract made between said REMLEY and one
Kennedy MORTON as follows. Seventeen acres of landing the second section , third
township and second entire range of townships between the Miami River in the
County of Warren. Beginning at the south East corner of said section running
West to the S E corner of Ma?er SEAMAN’s corner thence north along Laman
line to Laman northeast corner, thence East until it strikes the north and South
line of said Section thence South to the place of beginning-
Leaving a balance of 36 acres to be divided among the heirs of the said Christian
REMLEY-
Your petitioners further represent that the said Christian REMLEY left besides
your petioner Mary, the following named children & heirs at law, Solomon
REMLEY of Champaign County Ohio, Daniel REMLEY, Cass County Indiana, Catherine
REMLEY, afterward married to Amos BOOROM both of whom are now dead leaving Daniel
BOOROM of Warren County Ohio & Elizabeth BOORAM of Hamilton County Ohio,
Elizabeth REMLY Warren County Ohio, John Remley Montgomery Indiana, Sarah ROSS
late Sarah REMLEY & now widow of Robert ROSS dec-
Your petitioners therefore pray that partition of said lands may be made and
the dower of the said Elizabeth Boorom assigned therein, or if the same cannot
be done without manifest injury that then such other proceedings may be had
in the premises as are authorized by law-

The record continues, a total of 8 pages, mostly again describing the land above. The suit was continued several times, publication placed in the Western Star “a news paper in & of general circulation in the County of Warren” at least twice without a buyer.
Court term May 28th 1841 the land was appraised at “seven hundred and twenty dollars or $20 per acre”
On the “12th day of Jul 1841 offer said real Estate at public auction and there and then sold the within named tract of land to Horace M STOKES & Albert G WRIGHT for the sum of four hundred & eighty dollars that be
