What remains of this cemetery are in an overgrown wooded area next to a small ditch with corn fields on either side. All of the remaining tombstones and nearly all of the footstones are all now broken off and laying on the ground - some in pieces. Considering the placement of the remaining stones, there were probably many more burials and stones.
Location:	The cemetery is located on the north side of Wilmington Road about 1/10th of a mile east of Waynesville Road between house numbers 4173 and 4229 Wilmington Rd. and just east of a culvert passing under the road. I see the Greenwood Cemetery I found in 2002 is now published on line.
I found it across the street from a home I lived in at the time on Wilmington Road in Oregonia, Ohio in Warren County.
The only headstone viewable at the time was Jesse Marsh.
In doing an online search on his name I found a Great Great Great granddaughter looking for his grave from many years prior.
I contacted her (she lived in Texas), sent her the location, maps, and pictures of the site. She eventually came to view the grave and put that along with other family lineage on her website. She did a great job of publiching her family linage.
After locating the Jesse Marsh information, I was curious if anyone else could be buried there and maybe find out who they were.
I went back to the cemetery and uncovered all the grave stones you took pictures of.
Interesting, there are many more graves there, but without headstones.
They can be found simply by using a metal rod or probe and sticking it into the ground. Whenever you hit stone rubble, there will be a grave.
That was the same method I used to find and uncover the headstones in the pictures. Over the years, the headstones were buried under 2+ inches of soil.
However, from memory, I thought there was nine headstones, but I would have to go and find my old records which are boxed up from several moves, which now we are back here in Warren County in Lebanon, Ohio.
Apparently and sadly, locals over the years would come into the cemetery and take the headstones for halloween.
The local newspaper (The Western Star) ran an article of this find back in 2002. They were there photographing my search for additional graves as I was uncovering more headstones.
After all this, I took all the information to the Lebanon historical society for their records. At the time, their prior records were very minor and only showed a couple of graves registered by the DAR.
Just thought you might be interested in this additional information and why the headstones were easy for you to find.
