LEWIS H. EISENMINGER, blacksmith, Franklin; son of William and Catherine Eisenminger; was born in Germany Jan. 1, 1851. When 6 months old, his parents came to this country and settled in New York a few months; then removed to Cincinnati, where they lived one year, and then removed to Hamilton, where Louis H. attended school till 15 years of age; his father died there in 1860; his mother again married and they removed to Middletown, where he attended the high school two years; he then served three years at the blacksmith and machinist trade; he then worked as journeyman until 1873. when he came to Franklin and run a machine in Harding's paper-mill till it was burned down; he then began business for himself, March 15, 1877, on River street, near the suspension bridge, where he is doing general blacksmithing and repairing; he is also putting in machinery as the business warrants and does a great deal of repairing on farm machinery, portable engines, etc.; he employs two men. He was married, in Middletown, in 1873, to Louisa Wigold, daughter of Peter and Ana Wigold, born in New York in 1852; they have three children, Henry, Annie and William. He is a member of the Odd Fellows and Knights of Pythias. He owns his shop and one-half interest in six lots in Cincinnati. |
