Mrs. S. W. Flemming died at the home of her brother, Charles Strothers, on East Sycamore street, Monday noon. She had been in poor health for over a year. She was a lady possessing many excellent qualities. She was a leader in several fraternal organizations including the Rathbone Sisters, Pocahontas, and the Home Guards of America. These organizations attended her funeral in a body. The remains were laid to, rest in Woodland cemetery yesterday afternoon.

Mrs. M. Drathman died of apoplexy, at her home in Washington township, aged seventy-two years. She was born in Hanover, Germany, and emigrated to this country some fifty years age. She married in Ft. Jennings and she and her husband entered some government land in Washington township, soon after her marriage to Mr. Drathman, who passed away about twenty-five years ago. Three eons survive. Funeral was held in St. John's church, Delphos, Monday.

Cremates three Children and Their Mother Receives Burns From Which She Later Died-Father and Uncle of the Children Also Severely Burned.
One of the most fatal fires that has occurred in this part of the state for some happened two miles south of Rockford Monday evening about midnight at the home of Henry Frisinger in which three children were cremated and Mrs. Frisinger received burns from which she has since died also her brother. Chas. Chilcote, and her husband were-e seriously burned. The entire family suffering from the flames excepting the two-year-old daughter, Effie, who escaped uninjured, in her mother's arms.
Frisinger lived on the Eicher farm in a large log house, of one story and a small loft, used only as sleeping apartments, and which had one small window, but the only avenue of escape being a narrow stairway. His family consisted of a wife and four children: Pearl, aged 18; Stella, aged 10; George, aged 6 and the babe who escaped as above stated The family was aroused about midnight by the sounds of cracking timbers and roar of fire, which had started in an ash barrel just outside the door in a summer kitchen and burned through the logs at the foot of the stairway leading from the loft, cutting off the only avenue for the three children and their uncle, Mr. Chilcote, who slept upstairs.
Mr. Chilcote was awakened to his peril and started to escape through the window finally making a dash down stairs through the furious flames, inhaling flames and receiving injuries and burns which it was feared at first would prove fatal. His head and shoulders are severely burned but the physician this morning states he will recover as will also Mr. Frisinger.
The father and mother did all in their power to save their children sleeping above but all were cremated. The mother and her two-year-old babe escaped through the blinding snow storm in her night robe and bare-footed to the home of John Dysert, a quarter of a mile away, where she died yesterday morning from the effects of burns and exposure. She will be buried today.
An undertaker from Rockford gathered what he could find of the remains of the children and took them in a wash boiler to Rockford and funeral services were held yesterday, the three children being buried in one casket in the Rockford cemetery.
Mr. Frisinger was also seriously burned in the attempt to save his children. He is a poor man and has practically lost mostly all he had of this world's goods.

L. A. Ellis Passed Away Suddenly Friday Evening.
Without pain or even a moment's warning, the spirit of James Ellis, Jr., the venerable father of Dr. L. A. Ellis, of this city, passed away Friday afternoon, about five o'clock, while he was sitting in the office conversing with his daughter, Mrs. Ellis. He had been in his usual good health and spirits and there was no outward sign that the end was near at hand. While conversing he suddenly arose and remarked that he felt a little thirsty, the next instance he fell back in the chair and expired.
Mr. Ellis was born in Cooketown, N. J., February 28, 1830, he was therefore nearly 74 years old. For many years he and his family consisting of a wife and two sons. were residents of Ottawa and Tiffin, and his life companion passed away at the latter place about nine years ago. Since her death he made his home with his two sons, spending the summers with his son, Sidney Ellis in Leipsic, and the winters with his son, Dr. L. A. Ellis, of this city. He often spoke of his being blessed with all the home comforts that a man could desire, sharing the pleasures of a good home with his eons who are both comfortably situated. He had been a successful business man and spent his declining years in ease and comfort, simply looking after his property.
He was almost a life long member of the Methodist Episcopal church and at the time of his death was a member of that church in Ottawa.
Short funeral service was held at his late home Saturday afternoon conducted by Rev. M. M. Figley, of the First M. E. church. Several musical selections were sung by the Amphion Quartette. The remains were accompanied to Tiffin by his son, Dr. L. A. Ellis and wife and Mr. and Mrs. Chas. L. Ireland. Sunday afternoon, funeral services were held in the First M. E. church of that city and the remains laid to rest with those of his wife.

Date listed: Friday, February 26, 1904: Mrs. C. A. Ferguson after being ill of pneumonia for less than a week succumbed to the disease at a late hour Monday afternoon, aged forty-eight years. Thus another kind, loving wife and mother has passed from these earthly scenes to join those who have gone before.
Mrs. Ferguson was taken ill on Wednesday, a week ago with lagrippe, which developed into pneumonia. She grew worse, steadily until Monday afternoon when her eyes were closed in the last long sleep.
She was born in Marengo, Iowa, on Dec. 20, 1855 and came to Ohio in 1869 and on Sept.30, l872, she was married to C. A. Ferguson at Unionville Center, Ohio, where they resided for several years before coming to this county. She is survived by a husband and four children, Miss Iona, Earl F., Clue D. and Verne.
Funeral services were held from the late home of the deceased, on West Crawford. street, Wednesday morning, conducted by Rev. Figley, of the First M. E. church Interment in the Woodland Cemetery.

Date listed: Friday, February 26, 1904: On last Sunday morning occurred the funeral of Mrs. Alice Exline, wife of George Exline. Mrs. Exline has been suffering from a cancer for over a year and her family knew that her stay with them was short, but when death came it was almost unexpected. She became suddenly worse on Thursday morning and died Thursday night at 10 o'clock. Her mind was clear to the last and she called her family and friends about her and bade them a loving farewell, asking each one to meet her in heaven. Mrs. Exline's life has been a beautiful example to her family, she having been a christian since childhood. Her suffering was endured without a murmur and she met her trials in life with christian fortitude and bravery. Those of her family who are left, besides the husband, are Valentine Exline, of Cleveland; Mrs. Mae Palmer, of Celina; Mrs. Bertha Debolt, of Willshire, and Myrtle, Ollie and Harry Exline, who are at home. Her daughter Jennie, who was a much loved and respected teacher in the schools here, died about four years ago. Among those who attended the funeral from out of town were, Alpha Exline and family, of Lima; Mrs. Alice Urick, of Pittsburg (sic), Pa.; Mrs. Sarah Wisterman and daughter Fannie; Frank Wisterman, wife and daughter, of Rockford; Robert Myers and family, of Rockford, and Mr. and Mrs. Hertz, Van Wert.

Date listed: Thursday, March 3, 1904: Rufus Duprey, a pioneer farmer, died or paralysis at his home in Ridge township last Tuesday afternoon. He was born in Gallia county March 28th, 1830, departed this life February 23rd, 1904, aged 73 years, 10 months and 25 days. He was the father of eleven children, seven of whom survive him. Mr. Duprey was a prominent and faithful member of the Methodist church and the funeral service was held Thursday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the Beech Grove church. Interment took place in Woodland cemetery.

Peter F. Feigert died at his home in Connersville, Ind., Thursday. Mr. Feigert lived most of his life in this town and county. In an early day he was in the cigar business here, was twice elected Treasurer of this county in the early seventies, and a few years ago conducted a restaurant and cigar stand at Convoy. His nephews, Lewis and Emanuel Feigert, went to Connersville Friday morning to attend the funeral.

Simon Fair was born in Champaign county, Ohio, October 24, 1829, and died March 8th, 1904 aged seventy-four years, four months and nine days. He was married to Mary Elizabeth Griffith, February 15th, 1857. To them were born ten children, seven sons, and three daughters. Two sons preceded him to the better land. He leaves a wife, eight children, nineteen grand children, one brother and one sister. He was converted and joined the M. E. church n Allen county, Ohio, in the year 1854, fifty years ago. He read his bible carefully, the finer print as long as he could see and then the larger print. He loved the good hook. He loved christian people. He c6uld not and did not go to church as often as many others because of the bad condition of his eyes and other ailments best known to himself. Before departing he called his faithful wife to his bedside and said he wanted to go home, he wanted a better home and said that he then saw their son who had long been from earth. He was a soldier in the war of the rebellion and knew what it meant to endure the hardships of soldier life. He was a kind husband, a loving father, a good neighbor and a much respected citizen.

She was held in high esteem and has reared a family of children who are leaders in the communities in which they live. One of her sons, F. L. Dustman, is managing editor of the Toledo Blade. Funeral service will he held from the family home to-morrow morning conducted by the Rev. L D. Worman, pastor of the St. Marks' Lutheran church. Interment in Woodland.

Exline, passed from this earth to the realms of the eternal beyond. The deceased was an exemplary Christian, a kind and loving wife and mother, an ever ready and willing neighbor and an active member of the Woman's Relief Corps. The funeral services were conducted from the English Lutheran church, of which she has been a falthfnl communicant for many years. The deceased was fifty-six years of age, and leaves a husband, two sons and four daughters to mourn their loss from the parental fireslde.

J.A. Exline and family, of Lima, were here in attendance at the funeral of Mrs. George Exline.

John Bowen and family spent Sunday in Ohio city, attending the funeral of Mrs. B.'s aunt, Mrs. Geo. Exline.

Mounts, and Rev. Ranch and Rev. Pope, of Celina. The interment was at Woodland cemetery. Among the friends present from a distance were: Frank Fagan and Oscar Rozelle and sister, of Miami county.

Thomas Broderick Fagan, son of Rev. Francis Asbury Fagan, was born in Cape May county, New Jersey, September 15, 1828. He died in Van Wert, Ohio, July 6, 1904, aged seventy-five years; nine months and twenty-one days. He was married to Miss Caroline Crow, who survives him, December 15, 1853, near Tippecanoe City, Miami county, Ohio. From this union were born one son, William Fagan, of Lima, and four daughters, Mrs. Charles Redrup, Mrs. Homer Allen, Mrs. A. P. Wisman. of Van Wert, and Mrs. Eugene Rossini, of Lima. During the winter of 1863, in Mendon, Ohio, he was converted, and joined the Methodist Episcopal church. He remained a Christian until death. Mr. Pagan engaged in various business enterprises. but naturally he was a mechanic and inventor. He was the patentee of a number of useful inventions, the most successful being a windrower and clover buncher, which is quite extensively used. In his death his wife loses a devoted, loving husband, who was always solicitous for her comfort and happiness; his children lose a faithful counsellor (sic) and tender father. He died as the christian dies, full of hope and assurance. When he could no longer speak audibly to those about him be pointed them to that home in the skies to which he has gone, in which he hoped finally they might all gather. M.M.F.

Editor and Mrs. John W. Fisher of the Delphos Courant, Monday lost their six-year-old son as a result of the ravages of scarlet fever. The little lad was sick two weeks, but the disease baffled the skill of the physicians and the watchful care of his parents. The Fisher home is still invaded by the dread disease, two others of the children being down sick. Mr. and Mrs. Fisher have the genuine sympathy of a large circle of friends in their hour of bereavement and the dark hour of affliction that is upon them.

Date listed: Thursday, January 5, 1905: The funeral services of Grandpa Feigert took place at the German Evangelical church on Wednesday, Jan. 4, '05. Mr. Frederick Feigert was born in Breidenheim, Hessen-Hamburg, Germany, Oct. 9, 1820. He emigrated to this country and in September of 1843, in Holmes county, 0., he was united in marriage to Abiloma Koehler. To this marriage were born ten children of whom five, two sons and three daughters and also Mrs. Feigert have preceded him in the great beyond. There mourn his death five children, Chas., Joe, Mrs. J. W. Brittsan, of this township; Mrs. Philip Kreischer, of Convoy; and John Feigert, of Van Wert. There are also thirty-seven grandchildren and twenty-eight great grand-children. He died of old age on, Jan. 2, 1905, at the ripe old age of 84 years, 2 months and 23 days.

Death in its most hideous form has again invaded the home of a Van Wert family, the victim being Richard E. Feigert who took his own life about 6:45 o'clock last evening, by drinking a quantity of carbolic acid and firing a shot from a 32-calibre Ivor-Smith revolver into his head. The suicide was committed in the door yard of the Angevine home, 308 North Wall street.
Mr. Feigert, who had been employed as a salesman at the shoe store of Leeson & Stanley, left there at his usual time for start- ing for home, after bidding his associate salesmen, Ora Friesner and Cash Deniston, good-night. He went west on Main street, meeting Miss Eva Angevine, with whom he had been keeping company for two years, who is employed In the office of Dr. R. J. Morgan, and walked home with her. Arriving at the Angevine home, the young couple walked around the north side of the house and engaged in conversation for about half au hour, when Miss Angevine went into the house and Feigert turned to leave. A few moments later, and shortly after Miss Angevine had taken off her wraps, the family was startled by the report of a pistol. Mrs. Angevine and one of the daughters went to the front door, at the west end of the house, and saw young Feigert lying just off the porch step, grasping in his left hand a four-ounce vial and in his right hand a smoking revolver. Mr. Angevine was, at the time the shot was fired, a the pump in the rear of the house, getting a drink of water. Hearing the screams of the women he walked around the north wing of the house, where he came upon Feigert apparently in the death agony. He hastened to the telephone to summon assistance. About the same time Carl Brown, F. V. Wilson and Fred Spayd, who were at the C. N. freight office just across the street and had heard the pistol shot, reached the scene of the tragedy. A few moments later Policeman Harry Hay and Dr. C. A. Files arrived. Feigert was still living, and he was borne into the Angevine home and laid, on a couch. Twenty-live grand-children and five great grand-children were among the relatives present. Six of the grand-children acted as pallbearers. The church was many times too small for those in attendance. He was buried in the family lot in the Hoverman cemetery.
