CHAPMAN and TAGGART families that used to live in the Summit and Stark counties during the 1830's???? here is what I know so far: Hezekiah Chapman lived in Akron, Ohio in 1880 born 1828 married Martha Pickham - son : George Alfred Chapman born may 25, 1871 died november 6, 1943 in IL. married Minnie Taggart in 1899 daughter of Iasic Taggart and Lona Fulton.. both families lived in the Massillon area in the early 1900's/... that is all I know, more information would be appreicated.. thanks

PHILLIPS, PRESSLER, KAUFMAN, KREIGBAUM, MILLS, SHOLTZ, SPADE: I am researching the ancestors and descendants of my gg-grandfather, Samuel R. Phillips, who is buried in the Milheim United Church of Christ Cemetery. His son, Benjamin Franklin Phillips, married Christiana Crumrine (date unknown) in Centre County, Pennsylvania, and they had 15 children. They moved to the Milheim area in Summit County sometime in the 1880s(?). The children were: John Christopher Phillips (dob 29 Dec. 1869); Ellen Seclista Phillips (dob 1 Feb. 1871, md. A. J. KREIGHBAUM); Sarah Edith Phillips (dob 23 May 1872, md. Harvey Calvin PRESSLER); Emma May Phillips (dob 11 Oct. 1873, md. C. SPADE); Catherine Cordelia Phillips (born and died 1874); William Henry Phillips (born and died 1876); Phoebe Estella Phillips (dob 28 Jan. 1878, md. Lewis James MILLS); Susan Nora Phillips (dob 30 May 1879, md. Robert Henry PRESSLER); Blanche Regina Phillips (dob 27 October 1880, md. Herman SHOLTZ); George Calvin Phillips (born and died 1882); Charles Samuel Phillips (born and died 1885); Clara Elsie Phillips (dob 25 Oct. 1886, md. Edward KAUFMAN); James Arthur Phillips (dob 15 July 1888, md. Mae Unknown); Oliver Franklin Phillips (dob 16 Dec. 1890, md. Bertha Unknown); and Thomas J. Phillips (born and died 1892). Christiana died 18 March 1892, at age 44, presumably from complications of child birth. Any help would be appreciated.

Researching the KREITZBURG families of Allegany Co MD and Somerset Co PA. In a 1926 obituary notice of my gr-mother Anna [KREITZBURG] OFTEN, survivors included a Mrs Vernon GOWDY of Akron OH, a sibling that I was unaware of. Other children were Henry, George, John, and Julie Weslow. I would like to correspond with descendants of Mrs Vernon [KREITZBURG] GOWDY or have someone locate this family in 1920, 1910, 1900, census and offer me the results.

Family appears in the 1850 census in Twinsburg, Summit Co. Children of Calob and Amanda: Hannah A. Nichols, b. 4 May 1834 in Twinsburg, d. 21 Jun 1907, Franklin, OH Oscar A. Nichols, b. 1835, Twinsburg Sarah A. Nichols, b. 1840 Twinsburg Hannah A. Nichols, my gt grandmother, m. Josiah Clark Redfield abt. 1858, and they removed to Allen County, Kansas. My line: Jacob KIRSTAHLER b. 1739 Johann Jacob b. 11 Dec 1773 Jacob b. 21 Oct 1812 George Joseph b. 6 Nov 1852 Louisa Clara HALL nee KIRSTAHLER b. 12 Mar 1892 I know George K. had 13 children all born in Summit Co.
