COMMIT PLACE:

located in Canal Fulton.

COPLEY TWP:

Settled 1814. Originally part of Medina County. Located in Wadsworth.

COPLEY JCT:

Located In West Akron.

Copley Swamp:

the historical area.

COTTAGE GROVE:

Located in Canal Fulton.

COVENTRY TWP

Settled 1806. Originally part of Portage County. Located in West Akron.

Coventry Clips:

Albert Allen, a pioneer miller in Akron, came from Coventry Twp.

Also born here was George W. Brewster, early developer of coal fields in Akron.

CUYAHOGA FALLS:

Founded in 1812 by Joshua STOW & William WETMORE.

Famous Folks From the Falls:

  • John J. BAGLEY- Sold newspapers as a boy and went on to become one of Michigan's governors.
  • Thomas & Nicholas WALSH- were pioneer builders of electric street car lines.
  • E.R. HARPER - He Became Mayor of Akron and Lt. Gov. of Colorado.
