Unidentified Seneca County Photos

Do you have a "mystery" photo of a Seneca County resident? Need help identifying them? Submit them to this site by emailing me at [email protected] for directions. Submit as much information as you can about the photo (i.e. who they "might" be, or possible family name, etc.). We'd like to include your name & email address too, so others can contact you if they can identify them.

The following were submitted by Pam Kerschner. These photos are probably ancestors and relatives of my husband, Gerald A. Kerschner. They are from an album of about 44 picture that was passed down to his grandmother, Kathryn Katrinka Montz Kerschner (1890-1966). Her parents were Joseph Montz (1857-1922) and Matilda Blum (1863-1948). I'm feel sure some of the photos are of MONTZ and BLUM relatives. The majority of them were taken by studios in Tiffin.

Can anyone help me identify the other six persons in this photo?
The photo would have been taken in the mid-1850's - 60's, perhaps.

Written on the back of the photo - "Isaac's brothers and sisters" and the following names:

Back row, L - R: Bert, Molly, Kate
Front row, L - R: Will, Jerome, Sarah, Isaac

I do not know who Bert, Kate, Will, Molly, Jerome and Sarah would be. These names may have been nicknames/middle names, or brother's/sister's-in-law.

Isaac - seated to the right, on the front row is my great grandfather, Isaac Freeze, who was born in Seneca Co., OH , December 24, 1847 and md. Mary Mouser, b. January 10, 1849 in Seneca Co.

Isaac's siblings were:

1. Levi - who md. Susan Mundwiler
2. Catharine Ellen - who md. 1st - Benjamin Freeze, and 2nd - Daniel Broachey. ( possibly Kate in photo)
3. John William - who md. Amanda A. Grove (possibly Will in photo)
4. George W. - who died at age 17 yrs.
5. Benjamine H. - who died at age 14 yrs.
6. Jacob G. - who md. Amanda C. Knepper
7. Madora Emeline - who md. William H. King
8. Hiram - who md. Amelia M. Wagner
9. Rebacca Jane - who md. John Conley

Isaac's parents were Barnet "Barney" and Mary (Shedenhelm) Freeze who lived in Hopewell Twp., Seneca Co., OH from about 1830 until their deaths in the mid-1870's.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Sincerely,
Betty Fudge
