I wish to make a query on the surname Daugherty.. My Daughtery's hail from Auglaize, Mercer and surrounding counties. I have a James Daugherty listed with the first born son of William Riley in 1827 (give or take a few years) Family history has been that he married or lived with an indian woman. I have no information on this woman except that she may be of Shawnee or of Potawatomie origin. I have come across some information that Kickapoo comes into play as well. William married Jane Worthington in Coldwater, Oh, 1854? They had a son Issiah Morse Daughery. James is said to be buried in Swamp Cemetary or Swamp College Cemetary. Can anyone tell me are they one and the same? They arn't marked or recorded that I know of. My cousin and I have been posting all over the place and seem to come to dead ends together. f anyone can help me, please email me at [email protected] with a subject heading of daugherty so I don't erase by accident. Sincerely,Robyn E Curtis

Seeking information on John NORRIS, b 1808 in Norrisville, Crawford Co., PA. John married Sarah CLARK 25 Sep 1828 in Wayne Co., OH. Family history indicates John entered Fostoria (assume near time of 1828 marriage) and later moved to Findlay, Hancock Co., OH. BLM records show a John Norris buying land in Hancock. Co. 1832. Is there any information that would place John and Sarah in Seneca Co, such as 1830 census?
Known children of John and Sarah are: George W. Norris, b 25 Dec 1833 Wood Co. (next to Hancock), died 5 Mar 1904 in Saunders Co., NE; Nancy Norris, known to be Mrs. A.J.Anderson in Denton, TX by late 1800s (John is said to have died in Denton, TX, unknown year); Noah Anthony Wayne Norris, born 9 Dec 1837 Hancock Co, died 21 May 1916 in Fulton Co., IN; Marion Norris, died before 1896; and Joseph Norris, died before 1896.
John Norris' father is said to be Joseph Norris, born before 1788 in PA and died in Eastern OH?.
Appreciate any information. Thanks

Records show a George Keyser purchase 80 acres at Bucyrus 12 December 1835 located in Seneca County Ohio. My reason for tracking this man is his family and
if he had a daughter named Hannah born 1820 if so she could be my GGGgrandmother and I would be willing to share information on her marriage and children.

REEME FAMILY.....I noticed several Reeme families listed in 1860 Federal Census for Seneca County, Ohio. Many of these list Pennsylvania as their birth place.
1850 and 1860 AR census records list birth place of my ancester John Reeme as PA in 1811.
- He married Jane Lee 02 Oct 1834 in Jefferson Co., MS.
- He and Jane were in TX in 1840 - then in Jackson Co., AR in 1850, - 1860 Marion Co., AR with 2nd wife Mary. Jane apparently died.
Children for John and Jane: John M., Susan, Martha, Cecelia, Andrew, James, Thomas, Joseph and Frances. No children with Mary. (My John is sometimes confused with another John Reeme and wife Mary McFadden, who both lived and died in Dauphin Co., Pa.)
I am trying to locate the Pa family of my John Reeme, and possibly may be in same root family as the other John Reeme in Dauphin Co., as some of their children have similar names. Can anyone help me? Do you have record of any Reeme who went to MS betweem 1811-1834? Don't know if he went as adult or with his family as a child. Thanks,

Query Text: A marriage was recorded on July 3, 1845 in Seneca County, OH for William WONDERLY and Rebecca GINGERLY. There is also a marriage record recorded for William WONDERLY & Mary GINGERLY on March 20, 1827 in Wayne Co, OH. On that same date, a Sarah WONDERLY married a Solomon GINGERY. I am descended from an Isaac WONDERLY who was born 1829 in Wayne Co, OH. Is he the son of William and Mary? Was it the same William that married Rebecca 18 years later? Any help on these 2 surnames would be appreciated.

Hi,
I have been researching my Great great Grandfather for almost 20 years, and much of his life still aludes me.
Our family oral history is that his parents were killed moving slaves on the underground railroad and he and his sister were orphans.
His name was William H. Gibbs but he changed his name to William H. Kemper and settled with his family in Covington KY & Cincinatti, OH.
Today I found a census from 1850 for a Brannin S. Smith, MD age 27 years living in Seneca Co Scipio. It lists his wife Olive, their son and William H. Gibbs (age 13) and Harriet M. Gibbs (age 7).
Is there any records or history about 2 orphans taken in by Dr. B S Smith? Are there any news articles about the parents, Gibbs, dying or being killed possibly by a cave or coal mine cave in. Harriet was Hannah in the next census and she married Amos M. Mosey. They lived in Richland Co. Mansfield. William married (this is really weird) Elizabeth O. Gibbs, Oct. 14, 1856. Dr. Smith moved to Huron Co to Ridgefield by the 1860 census and in 1870 was in Monroeville.
Thank you,
Diane

I am trying to find the villages where both Charles Rudolph and Henry
Heerwagen came from in Germany. Charles daughter, Margaret, was married in an
Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wood Co., OH in 1891. I am guessing therefore that Charles and Sarah Heerwagen, the daughter of Henry Heerwagen, were married in an Evangelical Lutheran Church in Republic, Seneca County on the 19th of February 1861. Is there such a church in Republic? And, are marriage records available from the church?
Henry Heerwagen/Arwagen/Hierwaggoner, etc emigrated in 1841, settling in Lykens, Crawford Co, OH. His daughter, however, was married in Seneca County,
so I am guessing they may have attended church in Seneca County.
