Dear Maggie Stewart-Zimmerman,

I came up with your site and name on a surname search for MUMEA (the only one, by the way!).

I am researching my great-great-grandmother, Hannah Mumea. She was born in 1850 (I don't know where) and died in 1904, buried in Van Buren Township, Ohio. She married Alexander C. SHAFER (also known as Cam/Campbell) in 1873. This is about all I know of her. It was thought that she was Mohawk, but recently I've found evidence leading to the Mumea line being Blackfoot.

I would be greatly indebted if you have any further information on Hannah, or the Mumea line. I haven't been able to connect her to any other Mumea's I've found listed.

Thank you.
