Researching James DODDS (born 1805, OH or PA), son of John DODDS and Nancy LARIMORE, who was married 5 Feb 1829, Morgan Co., OH, to Elizabeth HOLLINSHEAD (1807, OH or PA - May 1850, Avon, Keene Twp., Ionia Co., MI), daughter of Richard and Catharine HOLLINSHEAD. They are known to have lived in Morgan Co., OH in 1830; Seneca Co., OH 1834 and 1838-44; Sandusky Co., OH 1835; Crawford Co., OH 1847; and Avon, Ionia Co., MI, 1849.

James and Elizabeth had 8 children: Hugh, of Boston Twp., Ionia Co., husband of Margaret MCDONALD; Catherine (of Riverside, Berrien Co., MI, in 1909), wife of Edward or Nathan FIELD and a Mr. VORHEES; Nathan, who lived in Berrien Co., MI, in 1862; Phillip, husband of Eleanor GREEN of Belding, MI; Nancy A., wife of a Mr. CLARK of Emmons, MN; Millie, wife of Jerome "Pony" DUFFEY of Lowell, MI; Keziah, who appeared in the 1850 census with James, but of whom I have found no other information; Harriet "Hattie", wife of Allison KNEE of Lowell, MI.

After Elizabeth's death in 1850, some of the children were apparently "farmed" out to neighbors and friends. We know very little about some of them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
