ELSIE STORTS

Elsie Margorie Ulen Storts, 82, formerly of Lyndon Rt. 1, died 10:30 p.m. Friday at Barbara Park Convalesence Center in Middletown. Born Sept. 9, 1896, in New Petersburg, she was the daughter of John M. and Ella Louise Worley Ulen. A retired teacher, Mrs. Storts was a member of the South Salem Presbyterian Church, the Mutural Improvement Club and the Buckskin Valley Farm Bureau Council. Her husband, C. Ray Storts, died May 12, 1976. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Earl (Rosalie) Mercer, Franklin; Mrs. Philip (Eleanor Rae) Green, Wilmington, and Mrs. Eloise McDonald, Chillicothe; two sons, Lewis Carroll, Greenfield, and Loyd Storts, Fullerton, Calif., and 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Two children, a great-grandchild, three brothers and six sisters prededed her in death. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Murray's Funeral Home, Greenfield. Rev. Robert K. Blaine will officiate and burial will be in South Salem Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

ELIZABETH STORTS

Mrs. Elizabeth Storts, 82, Frankfort Rt. 1, widow of Orange Storts, died Monday at 8:40 p.m. in Greenfield Municipal Hospital. A Ross county native, she was born March 19, 1881, a daughter of William and Lucinda Hester Grieves. She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Inez Spuler, Greenfield Rt. 2; three sons, Robert, of Lyndon, Cecil, of Frankfort, and Emolt, Lyndon Rt. 1; a sister, Mrs. Mary Hester, Lyndon Rt. 1; and eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Smith funeral home, Bainbridge, with burial in Twin cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.

ERNEST STORTS

Ernest P. Storts, 49, 848 Lafayette st., died at 2 p.m., Thursday, in University Hospital, Columbus, after being injured that morning in an automobile-school bus collision on Ohio Rt. 753, south of Rt. 35. Death was attributed to abdominal injuries. The accident occurred at 7:10 a.m. The Fayette county sheriff's department said Mr. Storts was southbound on his way home from work at the Armco plant, Washington C.H., when his car rammed into the bus being turned around in the highway by Maryon Yeoman, 46, Washington C.H., Rt. 4. The mishap occurred in 'heavy fog,' the sheriff reported. Yeoman had one passenger, a young girl. They were not hurt. Mr. Storts was taken to Fayette Memorial Hospital and then to the Columbus hospital. Mr. Storts was born in Ross county Jan. 1, 1917, a son of Ira and Myrtle Cokonougher Storts. He and Miss Mildred Taylor were married June 26, 1938. He was a member of Pisgah-Mt. Pleasant Federated church, and was a World War II Army veteran. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Beverly) Clifton, and four grandchildren, of Blanchester; two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Virgil Keplinger, of Greenfield, Mrs. Donald Leach, of Leesburg, Ray Storts, of Lyndon, and Ralph, of Zanesville. Service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, in the Murray funeral home. Burial will be made in Gilboa cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m., Saturday.

LAWRENCE STORTS

Lawrence Storts, 93, Port Charlotte, Fla., died Jan. 24 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born Jan. 4, 1891, in Ross County and moved in 1944 to London where he was engaged in general farming and farm real estate. Surviving are his wife, the former Elizabeth Newman; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Delores Storts, London; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. He was predeceased by two wives, Enid and Jessie, a daughter, Opal Kauffenbarger, three brothers and three sisters. Memorial service will be 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the London Church of the Nazarene, 224 Elm St., London, with Rev. Jack Womacks officiating. Arrangements are by Geer and Eberle Funeral Home, London. Memorial contributions may be made to the London Church of the Nazarene.

He is survived by his wife, the former Elizabeth Newman; a son, James Storts; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild. He was predeceased by two wives, Jesse and Enid E. Storts; a daughter, Opal Kaffonbarger; three brothers and three sisters. Arrangements for a memorial service in London are pending. Cremation took place Friday in Port Charlotte Crematory, Port Charlotte, Fla.

MYRTLE STORTS

Mrs. Myrtle Hester Storts, 86, Frankfort Rt. 2, died Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in her residence. Born Dec. 1, 1882 in Ross county, she was a daughter of Joseph and Hannah Long Hester. Her husband, Harrison Storts, died Sept. 6. 1961. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Mrs. Storts is survived by three sons, Maurice H., Homer E. and Roy E., all of Frankfort Rt. 2, and eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, a brother and a sister. Service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Murray funeral home. Rev. Howard C. Pettit will officiate. Interment will be made in South Salem cemetery. Friends may call at Murray's after 2 p.m., Saturday.

RAY STORTS

FORMER CITY PRINCIPAL DEAD AT 80 - C. Ray Storts, 80, Route 1, Lyndon, a retired principal in the Chillicothe School System, died at 11:40 a.m. Thursday in the Barbara Park Nursing Home, Middletown. He had been ill two years. His funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Murray Funeral Home, Greenfield, with the Rev. Clair Emerick officiating. Burial will follow in South Salem Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Saturday. The retired school teacher had taught at Lower Twin School, in the Greenfield schools and at the night school at the former Federal Reformatory in Chillicothe. A native of South Salem, he was born Sept. 16, 1896, to Ira and Myrtle Cokonougher Storts. On Dec. 31, 1916, he was married to the former Elsie Ulen, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Loyd, Fullerton, Calif., and Lewis, Route 3, Greenfield; three daughters, Mrs. Eloise McDonald, Chillicothe, Mrs. Eleanor Rae Green, Wilmington, and Mrs. Earl (Rosalie) Mercer, Franklin; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph, Zanesville, and a sister, Mrs. Esther Leach, Leesburg. He was predeceased by two sisters and four brothers. Mr. Storts was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in South Salem.

ROBERT STORTS

Robert B. Storts, 63, of Tucson, Ariz., died Friday, April 11. Mr. Storts was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Tucson Mason's Lodge No. 4, the F. & A.M., the Scottish Rites Valley of Tucson and Sabbar Temple, a World War II veteran, and a member of the V.F.W. No. 10056 of Dublis, Wyo. He was preceded in death by two sons, Tony Lynn and Robert Jr., and is survived by his wife, M. Louise Storts, of Tucson; a son, Richard Storts of Chillicothe; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Orr, Wanda McMurray and Gail Storts, a brother, Francis Storts, all of Ohio, and several nieces and nephews. Service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Evergreen Mortuary in Tucson with Dr. Richard F. Rowley officiating. The Masonic Sojourners will also officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Storts was a member of the South Salem Presbyterian Church where a memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 27.
