1. WALTER1 DAVIS was born Bef. 1776 in France, and died 1858 in
Chillicothe, Ross Co., OH.. He married MISS A. TRACEY.

Notes for WALTER DAVIS:
Came to America with General Lafayette during the Revolutionary War.
After the War he married a Miss Tracey, also from France. They settled
in Virginia and had 15 children, some of whom died in infancy. They
eventually moved up to Chillicothe, Ohio where they farmed. Both Walter
and wife are buried somewhere in that area.

Bet. 1879 - 1880 in Ross Co., OH. She was born May 1857 in MA, and died Bet. 1921
- 1929 in Washington, DC.

DOUGLAS, Albert, a Representative from Ohio; born in Chillicothe, Ohio, April 25,
1852; attended the public schools of Chillicothe and a preparatory school; was
graduated from Kenyon College, Gambier, Ohio, in 1872 and from the law department
of Harvard University in 1874; was admitted to the bar in 1874 and commenced
tactics in Chillicothe, Ohio; prosecuting attorney of Ross County 1877-1881;
presidential elector at large on the Republican ticket of McKinley and Hobart in
1896 and served as president of the electoral college; elected as a Republican to
the Sixtieth and Sixty-first Congresses (March 4, 1907-March 3, 1911);
unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1910 to the Sixty-second Congress;
resumed the practice of law in Chillicothe, Ohio; appointed Ambassador
Extraordinary to represent the United States at the centennial of the independence
of Peru in 1921; retired and resided in Washington, D.C., until his death in that
city on March 14, 1935; interment in Grand View Cemetery, Chillicothe, Ohio.
