Located near the Scioto River, behind the old Ross
County Infirmary which stood on the north side of Fairgrounds Road a short
distance beyond the present Fairgrounds. The Infirmary was born down in the
1960s. Most of the graves were washed out in the 1913 flood and there is no
evidence of the cemetery. It is doubtful the graves were marked with tombstones.
Many of those who died at the Infirmary were buried by family members in other
cemeteries. An earlier cemetery was south of the original County Home and there
is no evidence of it either.
