Location Description:   On the East side of Co. Rd. 301 (Washington South Rd.), just south of Twp. Rd. 321 (Garver Rd.).  Section 24.

This cemetery was read on 09 June 2002 by Amy E. Armstrong.  However, many of the headstones were broken and in such bad shape that a full reading was impossible.  Some additional records were added from notes belonging to D.W. Garber.

Note 1:  Lewis K. Pearce (who died in 1850, aged 53y, 5m, 11 d) was the s/o Stephen & Mary B. (Kinney) Pearce.  Lewis K. was the husband of Elizabeth Pearce as his first wife, who was a first cousin of his, and a daughter of James & Esther (Kinney) Pearce.  Lewis K. married Elizabeth Oedelia Driskell as his second wife on 9/19/1833.  After Lewis K. died, she married Landon McGreggor.  [DWG]

Note 2:  Margaret (Kinney) Van Scoyoc, wife of Stephen Van Scoyoc, was born 9/7/1767 to Lewis & Mary (Wilhelm) Kinney;  No stone can be found in the cemetery for her.  [DWG]

Note 3:  Mary Elizabeth (Pearce) Kooken was a daughter of Lewis K. & Elizabeth Oedelia (Driskell) Pearce  [DWG]

Note 4:  James M. Pearce was the husband of Catherine Miller, a daughter of Joseph & Catherine (Yager) Miller, who were residents of Monroe Twp., Richland Co., Ohio  [DWG]

Note 5:  Sarah (Kinney) Pearce was the wife of Simon Pearce (1795-1859).  She was a d/o Aaron & Mary (Pearce) Kinney, his first cousin.    Mary (Pearce) Kinney was the widow of Jacob DeHaven when she married Aaron Kinney.  Simon Pearce, with sons Orlando and ______ undertook to drive a herd of cattle to California in 1850.  The Indians stampeded the cattle and all saved was one mule and a steer.  The father and one son rode the mule by turns and the other son (Cicero) rode the steer to a trading post.  The one who rode the steer was a long time getting there.  After Simon died his wife went to Missouri where some of her children settled.  She died Nov. 6, 1876 and was buried in the Dripping Spring Cemetery, Boone Co., Missouri.   [DWG]

Note 6:  Mary (Pearce) Kinney was a daughter of John Pearce & Anne Pearce of Allegheny Co., Pa., and the researcher believed that this John Pearce was the brother of James Pearce (a twin brother) who married Sarah Horn.  [DWG]

Note 8:  Aaron K. Pearce married and had at least one child, Lavonia, who was twice married.  First she married Ben Berry and 2nd. to William Oliver.  Her children were:

Note 9:  Mary Van Scoyoc (b. 1792 in Pennsylvania) married Richard Guthrie (b. New York) s/o George Nelson Guthrie.  He was a twin.  He died 5/27/1851.  Mary died 1/10/1875.  Their children were:
